WELL , jobs r real bad in Calgary even survival jobs are difficult to get. Many engineers and other professionals r laid off. Though u will see millions of adds on net and newspapers. But the chances are remote especially for immigrants. first preferences are real Canadians. If u can live with yur uncle for years u may and mean while do short courses to up grade yourself. Otherwise its difficult. I am a professional . got no job in 4 months now i decided to leave as I cant eat up my money for ever. best of luck

I think besides professional work experience, the key to finding a job is through a network. Maybe you can start by finding jobs that your friends are into or maybe they know some place to work.. And also my husband always say, if you're really choosy then it's really hard to land a job.

Being chooser will not help. initially, You have to get in to any job you get.
Start making contacts. Do not shy away from meetings. Networking is the key to jobs in Canada. The more you network, more possibilities of getting a better job. One day eventually with some good contact and some Canadian experience you might get a job in your own field. The one you had in your dreams.
