hi guys! Our files is not in the Cairo office but the news say it has been closed down today. Does that mean completely shut down or they are waiting for things to get better and they will open it back up again? Does anyone have any more detailed news then what the national post is posting?

Yeah me and my wife went there yesterday and today the embassy was closed but we were able to meet an ambassador due to an emergency issue. my wife is canadian tho. i asked when are they going to open again the answer was so far no news once things get better around the embassy area they will open. hope that helps

hey guys how is everyone doing ? i have not been here for long. but honestly i got tired of waiting and the bullshit that cairo visa office is giving me. i fed up . and i kinda forgot about the whole process and start to focus on my own life in here. my last updates . cairo visa office been holding my passport for almost 5 months so far . a month a go they requested an interview for me in Egypt ( i live in usa ), which was a big shock for me . how would i go to Egypt without my passport . and why ( i as i assume cuz i visited Canada 7 years a go and never registered my departure cuz i left by my car to usa back then. ) sent them the proofs and the departure documents but they never commented on that ) i start to believe that whoever works there has no idea about those procedures and made me feel that iam dealing with some idiots . so my interview date was scheduled monday 28 of January, so it has passed and unfortunately i couldn't go and now i guess i am waiting for a refusal letter.. this is sick .. and made me sick and i agree with some one here who said i hated canada before i even get there.... good luck every one .keep your hopes up i guess if there is any hopes left....

the embassy was already closed on the 28th, send them an e-mail, mark it with URGENT in the subject, request your passport in order to travel to Egypt and go back to USA, reschedule your interview in a convenient time... seems they don't realize the situation, they actually don't pay any efforts to understand so u should explain in clear details to them.

Well i had sent them many emails explaining my situation very clearly and also supported them with all the decuments proving this issue.and also requested my pp. from the day i received the interview request email. and they never responded to my emails what so ever.

I heard that using URGENT in the e-mail subject or on the envelop in case u sent them regular mails, makes the reply very quick.. make a try..

trust me i have tried everything you can think of. TOP URGENT.. EMERGENCY , IMPORTANT. EVIDENCE. Etc.

NOTHING. ITS LIKE THEY DO THIS IN PURPOSE . ANYWAYS. I PASSED THE INTERVIEW AND I DONT KNOW HOW THEY WILL REACT TO THIS.

So guys really i am disappoint from Canada and Om and Abo Canada
I called madatito 2000 from two days ago and i was shocked because he still here in Egypt anyway he told me that CIC change the process i was hoping he wrong... but he is right
So .... I asked my wife to call the CIC today ( just to be sure ) to ask them about the processing time and i wished i didn't called them ....
anyway the agent said like WHAT madatito 2000 said to me ........ i must start to count the 14 months i mean "step 2 " after i got the approval emails
So that means I will start counting my 14 months from 10 of July 2012 till September 2013
and they told me i should to redo my medical SOON i just to wait till i received email from them to make it again

They are treating processing times as targets to meet...specially if you are from a non significant country/community towards the *self-censored* Canadian political parties...why would they care about you or your community you don't have weight in their dirty political games...look at India or China processing times...also see number of cases handled...
