I have the exact same status as you for massed medical test. and the rest are the same ... when do you think they will request the passport ? is there any thing else they asked you to do ?
and when did you do your medical test ?

Can take few weeks to months I not know exactly can ask them as me myself not know how long will take but if they needed more will ask sure so I bet this month you will get something soon

why are they different ? cic and the embassy ? i only sent the medical in an email to cairo visa office email .

The CIC is in Canada and they check if the sponsor is approved. Then they send the application to the local Embassy (here Cairo) to process the sponsored part. After the application is send to the Embassy, you should send any requested or missed document there since the CIC's part is done.

(X) Original police certificate from Syria with English translation covering the period of your stay there.

What does covering all the perioud mean ? There is only one police certificate we can request the one its valid for three months .
My other question is should the police record should be sent from Syria directly by DHL ? or is it ok of i send the original police certificate to egypt with someone and they send it by Dhl to the embassy ?
Or can we ask to go in person to cairo embassy and drop it there ?

Hi deemaom,
It means you have to provide a police certificate covering the period you stayed in Syria. You don't have to send it from Syria directly, it's perfectly fine to send it from Egypt. Don't forget to join the certified English translation. I don't think you can go to Embassy to give them the document, better to use DHL.

What do you mean by the Syria Embassy? The police certificate is deliver by the police. Then you have to send it to the Canadian Embassy in Cairo. They are processing your application, so they should receive it.

Ahhh I understand now! Yes, go to the Syrian Embassy in Cairo as they said here.

But the 12 months thing that was before as now is even 11 months for old applications and most here got it within this year in 4 months to 6 months , as you maybe know of new updates of process to finalize fast the new applications with 12 but who sent before 7 Dec will be within 11 months or less depending on thier order of receipt by Cic . the problem is the lake of updates which makes online inquiries useless .

So I'm getting excited. The immigration has contacted my husband. They requested some things, along with his passport. Basically, it seems now they want us to prove that I will be leaving Egypt with him, if he is granted the PR. This is the letter they also sent him, after the call.


Dear Madam/Sir,

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada.

Please note that in order to complete the processing of your application, the following documents will be required to be sent by courier:

(X) Evidence of your sponsor’s intention to return to Canada (i.e. A job offer in Canada, evidence of having rented/bought a dwelling in Canada, an acceptance letter from an educational institution in Canada, resignation letter from her current employer, …)


(X) Exit stamp from Saudi Arabia.


(X) 2 recent photos for you. Please ensure to provide the photos as per the attached photo specifications. 5cm x 7cm and the face measure should be 3.6 cm.

Ok so I am a bit confused... I already sent them my "job offer" when I first started the whole process.. so why do they need it again??? or do they need an updated version... like reassuring that the offer is still valid. since it has been 5-6 months since we started.

Also, I plan on sending them our plane tickets, is that enough on its own???
