Alhamdulillah!

My husband received an email from Cairo today requesting his passport!! They are ready to issue his Visa!!
The long wait is finally over. Interview was waived and his Visa is good until Aug 30, 2014 (when his meds expire).

We are so happy. Thank you to everyone here for your help and support!

but i want to ask why they just requested me a passport without photos for me
or may because i took it recently less than 1 year, since i submitted the application !

Not sure why they didnt ask you for photos. it could be as you said your file was submitted less than a year ago. Our application was filed in September 2012 and the photos we submitted where done in August 2012. My husband is sending his passport and the photos DHL tmrw so we will see how long it takes to come back!

The passports can get stuck in cairo airport customs for a few days - unless the DHL representatives in cairo follow it up closely, you can also push the local office in your country to enquire/complain about the delay.

But anyway since it already arrived - you have no issue now

Alhamdollah , it wasn't stuck in Cairo airport , i was worry about this point
but DHL office here in Gaza told me its OK , we have no problem in sending passports to Cairo

Anyway i wish everything will be OK

My husband has decided to fly home to Egypt January 21 and courier his passport from home. Last time we couriered it from the UAE for his TRV customs seized it and it took us a week and a few hundred $ to get it out. He wants to spend some time with his mom before he comes to Canada anyway so a good solution for us.

I am worry about the RPRF, why the want confirmation from Mississauga ! note that we my wife paid it online and we got a receipt from CIC website immediately ?? !!

RPRF confirmation and passport requesting without any additional documents like photos make me non optimistic for visa issuing now,
so i wish i have wrong feeling

Try not to stress too much...I know its hard but do try to stay positive!

When you sent your passport did you send them a copy of your receipt for the payment of the RPRF? If not I would send it to them so they have it.

I really don't think they would request your passport if they were not going to issue the visa!

That exactly what will drive me crazy
my wife contacted her MP, they called the CIC, and the CIC wanted from my wife to fax them the receipt
she did it..
so i wish we can hear a good news these days

I checked it yesterday no update just application recieved medical recieved and no in proccess. is your ecase "in proccess"and is this the first medical for you or this is the redo medical? From this forum i knew that they update some cases the last of January may be they will update it who knows we have to be patient

Hi Kuudir2!

If I remember right this was a redo of your medicals. We were not asked to redo our medicals CIC asked for an extension without our knowledge so I dont have personal experience with this. However from everything I have read usually when they ask for new medicals you are nearing the end of the process.

Timelines with Cairo are hard to judge...they are all over the place. I hope you get some good news soon.
