one of the most horrible Canadian embassies in whole world is Cairo visa office no rules no laws nothing just only by their mood
they are working as they want when they want as they want and if you want to contact the authorities in cic in Canada
they will simply respond you by saying Cairo visa office is still in the normal processing time
yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa right damn it

i know each case is different but they must treat us so justice i know if the husband and wife is same nationality close age and other things like language and culture are same their case will be very simple and the other issues
but treat us justice
one week for some one to take decision and issue the visa and two months for others to issue the visa oh ya what a heck treatment ?
every one is sameeeeeeee damn right

We have some good news to share, we received the email stating that our case has been approved and for my husband to send his passport by courier. Very excited!...

I have a question - we live in Dahab where there is no courier, my husband will travel to Cairo tonight to send his passport and to his hometown to get the military permission... do you know if it's possible for him just to drop off his passport at the embassy? They really stressed 'by courier' in the email... If we do courier it, he has to do it in Cairo - any recommendation of which/where courier to use??

inshallah we will travel within the next few months - we have to sort out things here and work, etc - but hope to be there by January! We will be settling in Victoria - if anyone is there already, would love to hear from you!

Hey everyone, i was browsing a website i use and found an (i Am) post about a person who works for the visa office in Canada. Which means this is his job so you can ask him questions on this post. He is not a Visa Officer, but he is the one that goes through the applications and organizes them before they are presented to the Visa Officers . So for the fellow applicants who haven't yet sent in their application, he is a great source if you have any questions.
Hope this helps you all as much as it has me
just to be clear he is not a Visa Officer and he doesn't know anything regarding the Cairo office specifically, he only goes thru the applications in the Canada office to make sure they are complete for the visa officer

I don't know about mailing within Egypt, but i have used Aramex here in Egypt to send to Saudi Arabia a couple of times and they are half the price of fedex and are very fast. he sent me a letter last Wednesday and it arrived Saturday morning. you can phone and ask

yes Aramex is so great so good they doesn't take long i forget about it their location in Cairo so they can go there

Also there is an aramex in sharm el sheik which is only an hour from you. you could always send it from there instead of going all the way to cairo and just ask for it to be sent back to their office in sharm to pick it up just an idea

For anyone who has been waiting for a long time, just know you are not alone,,, and that there are other ppl waiting like you or even longer.. it is all in the hands of God the Mighty. Myself I am waiting for 2 years straight.... just the end of last month they contacted my husband and informed him they wanted to issue his visa but medical is expiring in a week and RPF has not been paid yet.. so they advised him to redo his medical and to pay visa fee, and that they will contact us when everything is in. Well, I am not sure how long it will take, maybe up to 3 months.. but I hope it takes less.. it has been a month now since we did what they have requested..

i hope everyone here does not have to wait long to be united with their loved ones...

I see your process is also in its final stages... did you hear anything after the interview and is the medical upto date.. it sucks when they wait untill medical is about to expire,, and then tell you oh u have to redo ur medical....

I think everyone has to option to redo their medical even before the embassy asks for it.... I mean if you dont want to waste time..

It has been few months and I am totally pissed off and giving up. Since I already don't feel Canada is worth even few months of waiting. I am seriously considering moving outside Canada. (I am a Canadian citizen sponsoring my wife)
