Last update was that my husband sent and inquiry to the embassy and they have replied him with the same copy and paste answer :s

Good day, This is to advise you that family class applications which had been received in Ottawa were recently transferred to the visa office in Cairo. Kindly note that we have begun processing these applications and will advise you as soon as your case comes in turn. Your patience is highly appreciated.

everything takes 4 months till the visa in hand

wow thats fast..my husband and i started our app march 2013 and he got a interview may 28 2013..he was told to bring paspoort
also does anyone know about military in Egypt ?? we was wondering if he have to go in military first..

im really surprised that ur hubby got his interview in two months after applying
im an Egyptian man married to a Canadian citizen and they received our application may 16 2012 and i had an interview last may 19 2003 and unfortunately i was refused and my wife and i will appeal the decision
the embassy here really racist against Muslims
i hope all goes well with ur husband

yah we know about racism in the ambasy..we are surprised too about the interview but maybe its just to see if he is really the person on his papers ?? he was told to bring his paspoort or anything else with his identification..

they asked me 2 bring any ID and i brought my ID and my passport and they never checked it
how do u know about the racism ???

the very silly immigration officer told me that i cant marry my wife cuz im Muslim and she is Christian which is UNACCEPTABLE CULTURALLY IN EGYPT and also cuz there is an age gap between me and my wife
he was so rude to me and he was cutting me off and he was using street language saying CRAP 2 me when i answered him and told him that i love her so much and she loves me too and we still gonna be together and marrying a Christian or Jewish lady is acceptable 4 a Muslim man

Hello Brother, this is Mohamed, I am so sorry for what happened with you at the interview, for me the Counselor was so friendly and after he interview me, he have done the same with my wife and at the end he takes my passport.

Hi everyone,
Congrats on receiving your visa so promptly. Is there preference for egyptians? I'm just wondering because it doesn't make sense to why certain people are not receiving any response at all while others are going through the whole process. Would love to know if you have any tips for those of us still waiting.
