Hey guys, I know this is off topic but knowing that you've been working here in Canada for quite awhile already I thought I will ask. I have a job interview for a service oriented company located in the "warehouse/manufacturing" area of the city for an Office Assistant job... Do I need to wear a business suit or that would be considered overdressed?
For an Office Assistance job, yes. There is nothing called over-dressed. You will be benfitted with that. But if you 'under-dress' (lol), that is definitely not good. So, yes, my opinion is to be dressed rather than jeans- and Ts.
Mind you, you never get points for dressing up, its just an 'expectation' and first impression is the best impression. I had a lot of interviews (over 30, perhaps).
That is my opinion.
Know about the Company.
Make sure you represent that you have the qualities they are asking for.
Lots of behavior type questions - (situational).
talk till they tell you to stop.
if you go to U of R Bookstore, they have a good book on preparing for an Interview - cannot remember its name.
Good Luck.
By the way - is this question related to : 'Buffalo Processing Time'. Winnipegmb must kick you out of his forum. lol
