Hi Bongcan

So these 1095 should be continuous or can be it be discontinued like we stay 2 yrs in Can and then go out and comeback after a yr and stay for another 18 months so will all this cumulate?

thanks
Rani

I am interested to know on this as well, I was in US, followed by CAN and back to US waiting for PPR

I may be wrong but can you point to the official rule. What I see in CIC is:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/become-eligibility.asp

https://eservicesak.cic.gc.ca/rescalc/resCalcStartNew.do?&lang=en

What is the residence requirement?
To be eligible for Canadian citizenship, you must have lived in Canada for at least three years (1,095 days) out of the four years (1,460 days) preceding your application. Please note that you cannot meet the residence requirements for citizenship without a minimum of two (2) years as a permanent resident.

When calculating your time in Canada:

•only the four (4) years preceding the date of your application are taken into account;
•each day you lived in Canada before you became a permanent resident counts as half a day;
•each day you lived in Canada after you became a permanent resident counts as one day;
•time spent serving a sentence for an offence in Canada (e.g. prison, penitentiary, jail, reformatory, conditional sentence, probation and/or parole) cannot be counted toward residence - there are some exceptions to this rule;
•absences from Canada may have an impact on your residence. Only a citizenship judge can determine if you meet the residence requirements with fewer than 1,095 days of physical presence.

It looks like he is correct. from the requirements it says clearly in bold

"Please note that you cannot meet the residence requirements for citizenship without a minimum of two (2) years as a permanent resident. "

that means you have to wait 2 years after getting PR....if you have waited for at least 2 years before getting PR

you are correct 2 year minimum as pr and then your previous time counts up to 1 year

Ive waited for the PR 3 years and been living here for 5 so 2 years is nothing :-)

you keep asking the same question everyday. Be patient. It will come in God willing. Being nervous about will not change any!
Take it easy...

Ram,

I recieved the following email from Ottawa last week.

This is in reference to your application for permanent residence in Canada. In order for us to continue the processing of your application, we require the following documents: Ø Updated Schedule A for yourself and your spouse/common law. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5669E.PDF Ø Updated Schedule 3 for you. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/imm0008_3e.pdf Ø Updated evidence of settlement funds (showing 3 month deposit/ withdrawal history) for yourself and your spouse/common law.Ø Updated letter from your current employer that include a description of your job and your annual salary

Please advise regarding supporting documenst?

Thanks
