Congratulations! All the best to you in Canada!

Question:

When CIC mail PR card to the given address in Canada, do someone have to sign in order to receive it or postman just drop it in mailbox?

Thanks

In my opinion( I'm live in Canada), postman drop it in a mailbox.

Hi All,

I got PPR request last Friday, as discussed in forum couple of weeks ago.

My situation
a) I and my son are in India
b) Spouse is in USA
c) Son is US Citizen.

Under Step 2 they have listed following
STEP 2: PASSPORT(S) REQUEST

" If you or any of your family members are residing outside North America and you are unable to send your/their passport(s) to Canada and/or to provide a return mailing address in North America, contact us at CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca so that we can make arrangements to print visas at another office."

If any of you had an opportunity to get the visa office transferred from Ottawa to India. If so please let me know the timelines it took for you to send the mail to Ottawa and get back the response.

I spoke to my Lawyer/Para legal ?! he was not encouraging about this option. He said that come to USA and mail your passports for stamping.

Let me know your opinions

PS: Due to odd Indian law intricacies, it forbids us to ship passports but an authorized person can carry the passport on our behalf.

If you are ready for immigration, i think, will be better, if you come in USA, send passports, wait about 1 week and land to Canada.

Congrats on completing the journey.

Your timeline shows that you got medical request in Sep 2014. My understanding is that medicals are only valid for one year. You also mentioned that in Feb 2014 you went through x-ray again. Didn't CIC ask for complete medical again?

Thanks

No. They only asked the repeated X-ray and granted us a half year extension.

Hello,

I have been reading here for a while but this is my first post. I was hoping someone could help me estimate how much longer my application will take. I applied for Skilled Worker PR from within Canada in January 2012. This is my timeline so far.

January 2012: Sent my PR application sent to Buffalo (eventually was forwarded to Ottawa, unsure of exactly when)

March 1, 2012: Received an email stating: Application received a positive determination of eligibility and will be forwarded to a visa office for further processing.

November 2013: Request for a new criminal record check (original had expired)

February 2014: Sent in Criminal Record Check to immigration officer (it took almost 3 months to get)

March 2014: Request for proof of funds

March 25 2014: Sent in proof of funds

My question now is, do you think I should I be expecting a medical request soon? Are these requests for CRC and proof of funds positive signs that my application is almost done processing?

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks.

In my case and a lot other people in this forum got MR with police clearance.
Your case is kind of different like each of our cases but like July says
You will get it very soon.
Good luck and stay in touch

Sorry, I made a mistake which I have corrected in my previous post above. The requests for CRC and proof of funds occurred in 2014, not 2013 as I wrote earlier by mistake. I don't know if that changes anything. Thanks for your help so far!

Maybe, therefor, you applied within Canada, you don't need medical examination (usually, they send MR and RPRF together)

Hi,

Have anyone updated CIC regarding newborn after receiving medicals? How long did CIC take to update newborn details and send medicals for the baby

Thanks.
