I am an August 2010 applicant. May I ask when you did your 2 medicals? I guess your background check took longer than they thought so they had you do a second Medicals, do you know why your background check took so long?

I have been living in Canda since May 2009. In between, the file got transferred from Buffalo to Ottawa. We did our first medicals in Oct 2012. Later I was asked to submit my the RRPF during Feb 2013. Then no news...until I requested a GCMS note in August 2013. The same month, I was asked to submit the all the documents including my "original work permit"(no photocopy), police clearence of my husband from the home country, IELTS, graduation details, employment letter and bank statement. I did not go for second IELTS and sent the photocopy of my old IELTS along with rest of my documents and the visa officer called me for returning my original work permit. We had a nice chat and I requested him to take a decision on my application. I told him I don't mind if you take a positive or nagative decion as I am not getting young anymore and I want to settle down. I told him that I can not get hold of your office by phone or email. Visa officer promised that he will respond back to my emails and he promptly did too!

I went to MP many times..but I got only standard answer (under process...will contact if we require any additional info).

It was then followed by some uneventful months. Later I decided to ask for another GCMS note in Jan 2014. Then I got a second medical request. I did medicals for myself and not for my family family members as they just completed their medicals for TRV in Sept 2013. But CIC got back to me saying that they need remedicals for my family members. My family did the remedicals on 28th Feb and we received PPR on March 3rd at 10pm!!

From my experience, I think when we ask GCMS note, the visa officer at least goes through our file...

I landed in Vancouver in 3rd march 2014
Immigration of Vancouver airport very bad , they took 4 hour long time to clear everything
But now all is well , I got my sin no and applied for medical

Landed yesterday at Carway border. I was the only one at both the Canadian and US border so I was thinking the officers were going to drill me but none of those.

Just as a heads up for those driving through the land borders, please do you due dilligence by making calls to verify which border(s) will or will not be opened during this winter season. The first border I went to was closed (I guess because of the icing weather condition), so I had to turn back and drive through the pile of snow to another border. This could be frustrating particularly if you have kids in the vehicle with you.
