Dear All,

I had a question regarding the ppr. Apologies for asking this, since it does seem obvious from the many replies before in this forum, but wanted to confirm.

I am already in Canada on a work permit, so do they issue the passport request for people who are already inside Canada as well ?

Thanks !

Yes, they will still need to issue you a new visa (usually a single entry) and it will bear the deisgnation --"IMMIGRANT". It does appear that PPR may not be required for a holder of passport of countries that are visa exempt.

Hi All -

My lawyer got response from Case Analyst. Apparently they are not able to see medical and they have contacted NHQ Health result. They contacted on 4th october and no update until now.

They are going to do follow- up in weeks time and posisbly move on to next steps.

I did my upfront medical on June 22 with a hope to expedite the process and here I am with lost medical.

However I am quite hopeful that this issue will be resolved soon.

Will give further update.

Friends,

My Doctor sent an email to NHQ Health Immigration Ottawa (When they forwarded email to me, they ommitted FAX and Telephone no)and they got a response from that all medicals have been received and updated.

No action is required.

With that I have decided not to redo medicals. I would have to trust them and wait until I hear from Ottawa on PPR. I know its takingn little more time as compare to what I have seen in the forrum.

Lets hope for the best.

I hope you are not going to be asking your doctor for a refund or firing your lawyer soon. Either way, though, they lose nothing!

If you don't need a visa to enter Canada, you don't get PPr :)

If I were in your shoes, I won't wait this long, I would have called up another doctor and have it done. With all the back and forth, no one else suffers when two elephants fight, but the grass. You have wasted enough time, sacrificing at the most $350 dollars for another medical examination isn't too much. All the best!

The only understanding I get from it is that your are letting a lawyer and a doctor stuck you. I think the entire forum has been extremely generous to you for their advice. I have to respectfully leave the decision to you at this point.

bahadur30,

It appears some of the panel doctors and lawyers contribute tremendously to further slow down an already slow PR process for us. If I were you, I would have re-done the medicals considering all the uncertainty surrounding your upfront medicals.

Hi guys,

Ottawa has just received all the requested documents ( along with medical examination receipts) i sent them yesterday.
Do i need to send (they have not asked for it though) the scanned copies of these documents via an email? Please help.

Hi All

My ECAS status changed to "A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision."

Does it mean that I will get PPR soon or something else , I didn't get any official letter till now..

thanks

Thought so as well ! but not sure since most people in this topic have applied from within Canada and looks like they do issue a special immigrant visa ! ah, will hopefully have some update on this from the CIC soon :)
