Dear Friends,

I submitted my application to buffalo in April 2009. then it was transferred to Ottawa-CPP office in 2012. Then in May 2013 I did my Medical and paid RPRF with updated documents and PCCs to Ottawa -CPP office.

Now, TODAY upon inquiring my status from Ottawa-CPP received the below reply:

"Thank you for your inquiry regarding your immigration application. Please be advised that your file has been transferred to our office in New York for further processing. You will receive further correspondence from that office regarding your application. Please make all future inquiries to the following e-mail address:

https://dmp-portal.cic.gc.ca/cicemail/intro-eng.aspx?mission=new york or

NewYork-im-enquiry @ international.gc.ca "

Please tell me, what would be the next step and how long more would I wait.......?

Waiting for reply.

Hello Bravo,

The are so many reasons for transferring files to another visa office for further processing. Sometimes it is to reduce the workload in the current visa office. See Article12 of the Operating Manual and Bulletin 6B for all the reasons:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op06b-eng.pdf

12-File Transfer
OP 6 B Federal Skilled Workers - Applications received on or after June 26, 2010 2012 - 0 3 - 22 Processing offices may transfer files at any stage for reasons of program integrity. Program integrity includes issues related to local knowledge, such as the ability to effectively evaluate documents: knowledge of local security and criminality environments; or familiarity with business practices and procedures. Progam integrity also i ncludes improving program efficiencies. For example missions may be asked by National Headquarters to transfer files in order to improve processing times where there are insufficient capacities to process the volume of applications at the mission or in the event of special circumstances (political instability, natural disaster, etc) . This not only helps the department in reaching its objectives but the applicant also benefits from faster processing times. Other factors may be taken into account when evaluating the impact of a file transfer on program integrity. Processing offices are not required to transfer files for any other reasons. Such reasons include cases of applicants who comply with subsection R11(1) for the specified visa office, at the ti me the application is received at the CIO, but subsequently leave the territory of the specified visa office. In these cases, the original visa office should proceed and process the application as usual.. Leaving a visa office's territory alone, may not wa rrant a file transfer. In this case, if an applicant requests a file transfer, the visa office should inform them that the application will not be transferred"

Please do not panic. Trust you will be fine as the transfer will be a blessing rather than a burden.

Let me know if you need further clarifications

Dear JJ-C

Thanks for your info. Its really valuable for me.

As for me, I guess my file has been transferred to New York not to speed up the process but
for some other reason(s), which I don 't know as per now.

I don't have courage to withdraw my application, otherwise I would have done that by now. I am totally sick with this killing wait of 4 years.

Will update you guys, once I receive any reply from New York.

Bravoo

Congrats.

Do you have job offer? If so, you are FSW2 not FSW1. Please correct your profile.

Thanks

Hi, tokyo123

What docs are they requesting?

Hello Bahar855,

Did CIC ask you for updated docs before they sent you MR?

Thanks
No, they never asked me for update. My case is kind of weird, since the another applicant of this application (my husband) has a job offer while I am the main applicant. I am not sure if it speeds up the process, but maybe influences it somehow.

Hello all,

NEED HELP!

I was reviewing the GCMS I received 3 months ago and noticed a problem.
In the GCMS file I have not been given 4 points in the adaptability section for my wife's education. She has a BSc degree.
I am including the following lines exactly from the FSW guide about eligible points for a spouse education:

A. Spouse or common-law partner’s level of education
A diploma, trade certificate, apprenticeship, or university degree of two years or more and at least 14 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies: 4 points

What do you suggest? Shall I contact CIC and ask why did not give me the points?

Thanks

How did you figure that he/she needs to correct his/her profile? Nowhere in the post says anything about a job offer....

very well said,

+1

Thanks for the positive rating. Just like everyone on this forum, I had learned a lot within the last few weeks that I started visiting it. In fact, i wished I had been coming here prior to the time I filed my application two years ago, I probably would have gone with other faster application types and not this FSW 1 that is taking forever
