Hello all,

I don't know how this would affect the PR applicants, but thought it's worth sharing with you.
Jason Kenney has been moved from the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration.
His replacement is GTA MP Chris Alexander.
I hope the new minister would apply a better policy towards the PR applicants.

I keep my fingers crossed for all of us.

:)

Hi All,

I've been following up this forum from long time. Today I got PPR through email and its mentioned to submit in ottawa office.
So anyone of you know how long it takes to get PP back as I have my travel plans(international) in 1st week of SEPT. And I can not postpone it :(

Please share how long it takes or is there a way that I can go to other visa off and get it stamped.

Hi Canada_pr1,
Congrats! :)
I hope you get your pass much sooner than your international flight. I don't know how long it will take to have your passport back but if you get it before you leave and you have only one day to your flight, you go for landing. I highly recommend it because if something happens to you or your family in your international travel, it would be better to be a PR and benefit from its advantage than to be a foreign. Just to be on the safe side.

I have a question, could you please tell me what kind of additional documents you were asked to submit, if possible?
I see you have been asked twice to submit additional. Thank you so much.

Hi Fortunate,

In march they asked for revised forms along with PCC for country residing. So we sent FBI as we were in USA. Also we sent details for our newborn.
Then they asked additional docs- PCC from 2 other countries where we have stayed (The PCC's were provided in 2012 also. After that we did not visit these countries, but still they asked it again :( ) along with medical of baby.

A decision has been made

Hi Guys,

My decision has been made, shows in online ecas status after my medicals!

So how long it would take for next step.

Will the office ask for passport or they normally ask passport before making the decision ?

Kindly help me guys.

Hi Bahar,
Are you in Canada or USA? Our timeline is closer, until now no updates yet...
Hi
I am in Canada. They never asked me for additional information or update.

Hi,

From those who are waiting, has anybody applied for GCMS information recently?
If so, could you please share it with others if you noticed any important changes?

Thanks

I applied for GCMS information online on April 17th, 2013.
I received it on May 14th, but there was nothing special in it, i.e. no significant processing performed after the file had been transferred from Buffalo to Ottawa.

Hi all,

For those who are interested, you can make a request under the Access to Information Act or the Privacy Act to have access to your electronic permanent residence file.
In order to be eligible to make that request, you must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada or an individual or corporation currently present in Canada.
That is all done online and you will receive an email from Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) with your file attached in one month.

Hope it helps.

hey guys! What does FSW1 & FSW2 mean? I know it stands for Federal skilled worker, but what does the number stands for? I'm a FSW applicant but don't know if it's 1 or 2. I just noticed most of the applicants from 2011 receiving MR & RPRF are under FSW1... Thanks!
So if you don't know what category you are, why are you putting FSW2 in you profile? Why not FSW9 or FSW79 since you don't know what it means? Just guessing?...........

FSW1 stands for applicants without job offer while FSW2 is assigned to those who have a job offer, like yourself, so you are basically a FSW2 applicant

This was the answer to my to my questions few days ago...I initially put FSW1 because that was the first option on the selection. I just changed it to FSW2 when my question was answered..

Someone on this forum has explained it in the past. So if you google it you will get answer.

Hello Forumites,

I know this is not apt forum to ask this question but am sure some of you senior will have the answer.

Does an applicant under PNP who is working in Canada with a Post Grad work permit need to show proof of fund in the application to CIC? Proof of fund is one of the requirements, but I am just wondering why someone who has a white collar job in Canada still have to be subject to this requirement.

Thanks
