However,
Can please someone explain why I need to send them a passport if I already have a Work Visa.
Why do I need another visa?

I can use my existing visa to re-enter.

Thanks

They will need to issue you a new PR visa which you will use to land. You cannot land with any other visas. A PR visa is different from work/student/visiting visas or any other form of visa. PR visa confers you the right to come into Canada to assume a permanent status.

As soon as your PR visa is issued, they will cancel any other visas that you have previously.

Hopefully, it wont be long that they will issue your PR visa. I am thinking the period that your passport will spend with them won't be long that is why they requested it together with your other documents.

On the other hand it is a good news. Congrats

you will need to exit the country and re enter with a Resident Visa
the work permit you have now will be voided and the Immigration officer will need your actual all your previous work permit in order to verify that you were always legally in canada
so if you want to have them as a souvenir of your Canadian Journey you better do Hi Ress scans of them cause the originals have to be turned in
your workers visa will be voided and any visitor visa you have will be voided too

Please advise me whether I have to send my passport if I am in Canada already under working visa.

I received a single email requesting to send medical, fees and passport.
It is strange that they requested all at once as I will be without my passport for unpredictable amount of time.

I want to be able to travel while waiting and question whether I need to send my passport as I already have a Working Visa and is able to re-enter.

Can I just send them the copies of all pages (as they mention is possible for those countries where visa is not needed, but it is not my case).

I called CIC, and they insist I have to send them, but they do not really understand there that they issue a one-time visa to enter.

What do I need at the boarder to land?

COPR?

Can I get it by mail without getting a permanent visa, but just re-enter with my current work visa?

Thank you very much for your advice.

you cant land without a immigrant visa
forget the travel you planned or leave it for after you get your PR

Hi Guys,
I was following this forum since long time ago. There was not much in my application to tell. Recently after 23 months I got updated document requests. I have some questions and will appreciate if you tell me your opinions:

1) How long normally does it take from Updated document request until medical and Passport request? any idea??

2) Are they going to assess based on the rules on the time of application or with new rules? I do not have LMO but I have valid work permit exempt from LMO, on that time they did not need LMO. One month after I applied, they asked for LMO, too.
3) I changed my job once after I applied. It is almost at the same category. NOC skill level B. The second job is permanent and full time too. do you think this may have any affect on my application??

My time lines are :
FSW2
applied 28Jun2011
RBVO: 31 aug 2011 (buffalo)
Updated document request 03JUN2013 (Cpp Ottawa)

Thanks

lmo was exempt based on wht - give details ?

occupation name of second job ?

hw long was ur 1st job for ?

-my spouse is a full time student... so I do not need LMO

-my fist job offer was permanent , but I found a better permanent job with higher salary and changed it. Both are the same NOC. I was in my first job four months and only after one month of applying I changed it.

IF BOTH WERE ON OWP THE NO LMO NEEDED

Hi terki,
Actually I have an open work permit approval and visa for two years from Canada under MPNP. Is there any time limit that I should make first entry within specific period. Because I got visa in January and still didn't visited Canada.

Thanks

Any idea how long it takes to receive passport request once CPP-Ottawa receives all the requested documents along with RPRF and medicals?

Guys,

I just got the request for medical tests from Mexico City's VO. Here's what the email says:

Mr. XXX,

In reference to your application for permanent residence in Canada; we inform you that you must provide this office with the following documents:

- Updated schedule A
- Updated Additional family information form
- Medical exams
- Payment of the right to permanent residence fee

I just have one question. I'm not sure how I should submit the right of permanent residence fee. Also, can I submit the updated docs by email? The letter says I should send everything to the embassy but it doesn't specify how... I'd appreciate your advice :)

Hello! Pay your RPRF thru online via cic website on yur credit card, and im pretty sure you have to make a profile first and remember to save ur user name and password in a hardcopy, or else you cant retrive anymore ur password.. And definitely you can send your updated documents via email, take note and make attention to the specific visa officer who wrote you a letter, they usually have a code at the end of their letter? Usually 2 letters followed by numbers. ;-) cheers and good luck!

Hello fellow forumers!! Just thought i share my experience. Last tuesday as ive checking my email for updates from cic ottawa, I received a phone call from a visa officer that my application has been finalized and visa are ready to be printed out but.... He noticed that my daughter's pp is expiring soon, in 3 mos time, so he gave me the options to renew it now or they can proceed in printing out the visas & need to land in the nearest border b4 her pp expires or if I can extend my daughter's pp, then our visa will be good until 2014. But told him that we already renewed her pp and it will arrive anytime this week, so he said Great! Email the biopage of her pp and so they can print the new pp # on her visa! Im so relieved upon knowing that my file was ready to go after that long long long period of waiting... He also told me once he got the email ppr will follow soon.

He aswell mentioned that there's two options to land as PR inside Canada, the usual which is to exit and re-enter on the nearest US border, or you can make an appointment to your local cic office to land or to process your PR status. So to everyone who's still waiting, just be patience and your time will come and that's for sure, in the meantime, make you self busy....

Again, goodluck to everyone!!!! Cheers!

Wow...good news. I am so so happy for you. Although my application is just two years on the queue, it is really looking like forever. But each time I visit the forum and I see people who are getting PPR, it gives me hope that mine is drawing close. I am sure very soon, I will be here to share my own good news too.

ANYONE?

Any idea how long it takes to receive passport request once CPP-Ottawa receives all the requested documents along with RPRF and medicals?
