You guys are all so lucky!! Take any email from Ottawa as a good sign - even if it isn't a med or PPR request and is only asking for an updated police certificate or job info. I applied April 2011 (FSW1) and haven't heard a thing since June 2011 when my status went RBVO. I'd love to get ANY request right now from CIC! You shouldn't be complaining because quite a few of us are not as fortunate yet.

Hi Paul,

I also have the same timeline as yours. i also haven't received anything update on my case after May 2011. Online case status says "RBVO".

I hope we get some news now....

Keep in touch.

Thanks,
Andy

Finally they replied my email(which was sent couple months ago!!!). Does this mean anything? any real progress?

Hi syed_h_sha,

Yes, there's a form IMM5669E but if you want you can send them even on word file or simply writing in your email with this format

From
YM

To
YM

Activity

City or town
and Country

Name of company,
employer,school, facility, as
applicable

in a table format, they did ask me a month ago, make sure not to leave any gap between your personal history, you need to tell them if you visit India, don't hide it, this is not a negative thing, just fill up the spaces and you'll be good to go.

I'm still waiting for my turn MR :(

Best of luck and keep posted.

Thanks,
Nadeem

thanks dude...I sent the form and but there are no changes in history. only added my visit to India on vacation and address change...

I guess they would request Police certificate as moved out of Canada for a period of time......

is there any one who updated personal history got any message back in this forum ??

Syed

Andy: Good to know it isn't just me.

Wucike: That is the same generic email response that I received when I emailed them almost a year ago to check on my file status. It is a generic form email response that they send to everyone who inquires.

@alexalex

We cannot apply BOWP at border as one criteria is we have be in Canada to apply for BOWP

I think they need it for past five years. So you may require it for 1 year from your home country or where you reside.

Hi guys,

My application was approved by CIO in April 2010 and they instructed me to forward my application to Buffalo in May 2010.
I received my medical request in April 2012, togeter with additional documents.

I gathered everything and finished up the medical exam and sent them out in May 2012. Files transferred from Buffalo to Ottawa in July 2012. The most recent update I received, upon my representative's inquiry, was as follow:

"The file was updated on 22 Jan 2013. CIC received the documents that you submitted and is doing background checks."

My patience has just been killed by CIC's slow work, but still I keep checking my mail box everyday and hope for some letters from them. Anyhow, just wanted to share this and hope it's of some help.

PS: My CIC e-CAS has not been updated AT ALL since January 2012, so now it's still showing Buffalo Office started processing my case which is absolutely not the case, coz Ottawa is the one doing it.

Can somebody on this forum please tell me the job market in winnipeg, looking for a little bit detail and some contacts to get apartment please.

Iamlindayoung: Thanks for the timeline/info; I am exactly one year behind you in the process and if your timing still applies then I should get my med request some time around April or May of this year. Hopefully. Regarding your ECAS status, don't be concerned about CIC not updating that; my ECAS hasn't been updated at all since June 2011, 2 months after I applied, and still does not reflect the Ottawa transfer or a few other changes. I'm not sure what the point of ECAS is for people like us, but it definitely is not accurate or worth worrying about. Good luck!

Why are bordering yourself with e-case? Even if you were able to log in, it still doesn't tell you anything, and if it does, it's completely far from what's actually going on with your file.
