Scroll down to FAQs and click on Question #1:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/canada/ottawa.asp

What does it mean? :

MI02/03 – All files received between June 26, 2010 and June 30,2012 will be assessed in 2013

Will they be finalized and visa will be issued or they will just review it and start background checks?

I guess it depends on how CIC view the words "assess" and "review". But I just hope CIC is not deliberately displaying semantics, and just get down and take care of business once and for all

I guess so. if you see all family and CEC applications are done ( which are transferred from Buffalo )
if there is a problem with application then they might hold.

at least it says that they will have an update by the date that are mentioned in the table..

good luck..wait another month we will know the truth...

Finally we Landed
the plan was to spend the night at Lethbridge but couldn't wait so Drove down to Coutts Ab
process was easy and fast maybe cause of the time 2030
the immigration Officers on the Us side were like they always are ....
then we were escorted to the Canadian side where we got a Sweet nice canadian officer that acted like they are happy to welcome us

this will be my last post on this forum I wish all the Backlog cases get solved soon
Ill pray for all everyday
Good luck!

MP asked today about my file and was told that no changes so far and not yet even scheduled for review and to ask after a couple of month...frustrated, disappointed and really don't know what to do!!!!!! pray for us

Hi this is my timeline. Can anyone provide any insight into my situation? Even my MP wont respond to any emails!!

application received March 22, 2010.
application and supporting documents were received by the Buffalo office. They are pending review.
application transferred to the Buffalo office on May 27, 2010.
Your application was reviewed and we started processing on March 13, 2012.
Medicals Requested April 2012
Medicals submitted April 2012

Also how do I know if my case type is IM01 or IM02/03?

Thanks to anyone who can provide any information!

I believe there are no Visa officers in this forum? Everyone on here is waiting (which can be very frustrating sometimes though). So the insight you need is to wait. And you are clearly M01.

Now Detroit center has been closed. They transferred my file to Detriot and then closed Detroit office. Now they will transfer to some other center.

Canadian system rocks

If you already submitted an application

Temporary resident applications that have already been submitted at visa offices in Caracas, Detroit or Seattle will continue to be processed to completion at those offices.

All permanent resident applications currently in process at the offices in Detroit, Seattle or Caracas will be transferred to the office now responsible, where processing will resume. Applications previously submitted to the visa office in Caracas will now be processed in Mexico City and those submitted to Seattle or Detroit will be processed by Los Angeles and New York.

Economic and Family Class applications that have already been submitted to the CIO-S or CPC-M and have received positive eligibility will be redirected to the appropriate visa office. Applicants are not required to contact the offices to ensure their application is redirected.

Don't understand why couldn't they finish processing PR applications in those offices, similar to what they are doing with Temporary Residents applications...

When eventually files have to be transferred to LA and NY.Then why on earth would you transfer somebody's file to Detriot few days ago knowing that it will be closed and then same file has to be moved to another center.

reading the different post, it looks like Dec 2010 is on going ? am i right ?

Hello folks,

I was again asked to submit FBI report for my spouse which I already did. But the problem here is that report was issued 2 months earlier, does that make any problem? Any ideas? Do I need to request another FBI report or that should be fine? They give me 60 days to submit it. Since I already have one dated back two months back, I posted it. Somewhere I read that FBI report should not be old than 3 months. But I am not perfectly sure. Further suggestions please.
