The lady postman from Canada post just have knocked my door to deliver my passport with immigrant visa and CoPR
Hurrayy!
Feeling so happy and relieved ....
Thank you all in this thread for giving me mental support when I was groping in the dark and silence of CIC during this long waiting.
Those who are still waiting (Buffalo to Ottawa cases), I strongly believe that they will have the same feelings as I am feeling now and it will happen very soon. Should not take more than next couple of months, as Ottawa is desperate to be done the processing of all the buffalo to ottawa cases.

I have a quick question. When you send your passport did you send them the Canada prepaid post with signatures? I am wondering if I will be not at home to sign what will they do?

Hi Jessica,
When I received it today, I did not need to sign while receiving the package. Also, I did not send any signature while sending my passport. I think, they will deliver it to anybody at the receiver address. For your case, the worst scenario can be you may have to pick it up from Canada post regional office.

I am supposed to receive my passport back today. checked canada post webiste with my tracking number.
surprisingly it shows it is delivered already and there is signature and recipient's name
it is not my name and signature either!! i have been at home whole day. no one came to my house................so worried...
my husband called canada post and waiting for the followup

please can you tell me how it showed up in your canada post tracking account??? it there someone else's signature and name??
I saw you did not sign when you received your parcel..

hopefully it is postman's signature...not sure if they can sign on of half of customers though..and hopefully he is on the way

At the beginning of this year, I remember similar things happened with me. I was supposed to receive my renewed passport from the embassy of my native country located at Ottawa. In the morning (say at 10am), while I was at work, I saw the mail is delivered (but there was no signature) and I immediately have my wife to check the mailbox. But, she could not find anything until mid afternoon (say 2pm).
What I am saying is: it can happen. But to role out any other bad possibility (and considering the importance of the package), I would immediately contact Canada post to figure out what is happening.
Do you have the original copy of the Customer Receipt from the xPresspost envelope? Check the address and see if you have done any mistake or not.
Do not panic. Does not matter what, as CIC has already have issued your visa and CoPR, CIC will do it again in case of the worst case, though I really think that everything will be fine with you and your post man is going to show up soon

I think what it means is that it has been delivered to the Canada post office that serves your area. Will be delivered to your door, no worries.

We have received your passport and your application is currently in queue to be finalized. Please note that we are unable to estimate the remaining processing time required for your application.

If you have included a prepaid Xpresspost return envelope, your passport will be returned using this envelope. If you have followed the instructions on the website and kept note of the tracking number, you should be able to follow its delivery on Canada Post.

If you did not provide a prepaid Xpresspost return envelope, your passport will be returned by regular mail.

is it normal ? coz i send my pp on 2 dec and they received on 3 dec and my status is showing decesion made but in this email they said my file still in queue to finalized,, what does it actually means

Dont worry yourself, CIC will not ask for your passport unless they have made a positive decision on your application; it may however take a while for ecas to show the update. Experience from this forum and all other information reveal that status on ecas and actual status on your file do not usually tally. I, for one have seen someone whose ecas shows decision made and the applicant did not get PPR until 4 weeks later. I guess, the term "finalize" as used in the email from CIC, means to do other things such as printing of visa, issuing COPR etc. Please be calm!

Judging from this forum, it takes anything from 10 days to 3 months
