Yeah i hope its quick for me. CPP-O already requested personal history from me, docs from my eldest daughter and RPRF on Feb.12, 2013. Thanks supp for the helpful info.

Hi,

I received a "Ready for visa letter" from cpp-o asking for passport, photos, and Biodata. It doesn't say that my application has been approved though. It says that my pr application processing is almost complete. So is this the passport request?

Application sent to Buffalo November 2011
Acknowledgement and medical from ottawa May 2012
Then yesterday I received this email: June 21, 2013

I am just concerned about the validity of the visa, because I am planning to spend the summer back home before landing in Montreal.

I think the landing visa is valid for a year. But if not, you can always spend a little bit more time and money to go to the border and flagpole. You can do this at any US/Canada border.

So i got my passport back on 14 june and did the flagpole same day at north portal

Thanks, if i understand this correctly as long as i have the documents to prove my landing is completed i can cross back and forth the US border by car but a big NO to FLIGHTS.
You can travel by car, bus or train across the border. Its not that the CBSA will not let u enter, its the airlines who will not let u board the aircraft since they don't accept COPR (as mentioned earlier by yanesrahn). I went to the US and came back and CBSA agent was super cool with this.

Hope this links helps for others
