@ Edmontonbound I have an album of my notes buddy. I have ordered 4 of them....How do you know your file is not touched since May 2012? If so you should contact Ottawa.
Are your security checks passed?

That's a separate issue. I think you are just one of those very unfortunate applicants. Many applicants that have applied in late 2010 and 2011 almost either waited or are still waiting for more than 24 months. I indeed feel sorry about it.

On a different note, did you ever apply for your GCMS notes? If so, you can pretty much see that your file would be essentially gathering dust for all this time. My GCMS notes show that it was never touched after May 23, 2012!

Nothing started for me back in April 19, 2013. However, it went into process in Ecas on May 31, 2013. I am just hoping they have at least opened my file. How do you know if your security is passed? It normally shows blank even after PR.

I think when Ottawa sends us invitation to redo medical exams it means that our security checks are complete.

Hi nima514,
Can u tell me after redoing medical how long usually it takes to get ppr? Can u tell me when any applicant is asking to redo med...does it mean that any officer is assigned for his/her application?

@Nima: I don't think so. The way Canada immigration is designed, police certificate and medical results are valid for 12 months. Within the 12 months, CIC expects you to be a permanent resident. So, if it's going to exceed 12 months, they either extend the medical or ask for re-do. However, each case is different. This is the reason why CIC asks for medical 2 months to PPR for CEC & FSW category. For PNP, they ask for medical 6 weeks after applications are submitted, knowing fully well that PPR will come within the next 120 days. However, everything is now scattered.

I was talking about the people whose files were transfered from Buffalo to Ottawa and their medical are now expired.

I think its a good sign when they ask you to redo your medical. People that redid their medical in Feb. 2013 are now receiving their PPRs.

The security checks are not done for everybody. It is just the criminality checks done by RCMP that is done for all people. I was chosen for BG checks. why? I don't know. bad luck! I know somebody whose BG checks took 5 months. If you know somebody whose BG checks took a year let me know. I think that's rare. May be the guy had a big problem. I will wait 5 months and then contact CSIS. I don't want to do it just yet but I have heard people have done that. check this out http://www.settlement.org/discuss/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6059

Thank you nima, I think I might write a letter to CSIS. cheers.

Although I have an issue, my spouse is not in Canada, is there any procedure to send spouse's passport to CPP-Ottawa from outside of Canada.
Anyone had the same situation, please share your experience ??
