it seems like they are giving priority to the cases who have applied in april- may 2011 this month and then moving towards june 2011 and so on, may case was filed in july 2011

Hi all,

I am a july 2011 applicant, and in february 2013 they asked us for FBI certificate, which we sent and they received it on April 5th. Could anyone tell me how long I have to wait before we get PPR? We submitted everything they asked us, so there is nothing to be done from our side.

And hearty congrats to all those who got their PPR. All the best in your new life in Canada!

id assume that since they asked for your pcc theyre still doing security checks. which might take a while. depending on your specific case.
id say anywhere from a month to three months from when they received your updated pcc. assuming everything else is in order and theres no problems.
id say email them mid may if you havent heard anything.

Hi guys. I got my ppr last Friday at 7:00 pm EST.
The long wait for over 20 months finally ends.

I'm a June 2011 applicant. Done my medical around early Nov, 2011. Since then, I've never got any direct contact from CIC.

What I did hear from them is I called call center at the end of Feb. After two days of that call, they called me back and told me
I don't need to re-do my medical. That's all ...

Good luck for anyone still waiting. You will hear good news soon. ;D

Has any one received the PPR and then sent the PPs to NYC office and got them back. Can you please share how long it took?

Hi Nima514,

May I ask you a question? How do you know that you have been flagged for extra BG checks? The CiC just told us before that our case s awaiting for final BG checks not extra ... ?

I think Nima514 had contacted his area MP in the past. The MP had told about the extra BG check. I may be wrong though.

Edmontonbound is right. An MP can tell you if you have been selected for extra BG checks. If your MP is telling you that have been selected for extra BG checks, it is a great bad luck. I got that bad luck! I personally don't think I am going to the PPR by the end of summer. I have been waiting for 29 months for the federals to do their job. It sucks....

Thanks Nima514, I totally understand what you say as I've been waiting for the last 26 months (and still waiting). Try to be optimistic. Hopefully our cases will be resolved by this summer. Haven't you been asked over the last few months to update your history?

Hi guys, I am in the same boat as you. I am June 2011 QSW applicant. As per CIC, my backgrounds checks is in process. However, I do not is it normal checks or extra background checks but I think it could be extra background checks because CIC started it in Dec 2012 and its still in progress. I do not know when we will receive this magic e-mail of PPR.

Guys... same situation as you guys... May 2011 applicant. They asked me to redo my medical which I did on April 3rd. On April 21st they updated up status as medical received. Still waiting... ???

Please I need advice before I loose it up !!!

I was contacted in Feb to redo my medicals which I did on March 4. Before that medicals, I ordered for GCMS which I got on March 22.
The note said that all Backgrounds checks(Eligibility, Criminality etc) are done. It was only my medicals that was awaited. My spouse's medical was asked for extension.
Last weekend I contacted MP's office and they got back to me yesterday that CPP-O is awaiting my spouse's medical result. That they had sent a letter to me on April 7 which I never got. Note that my spouse did her medical on Jan. 19 2012 and if it was extended(3 months added), it would have expired April 19.

Can someone help explain this mix-up? I called the call center and they told me that an e-mail was transmitted on the 7th April but they wouldn't see the content of the e-mail. Who do I mail or call to get the clear picture. I don't mind my spouse doing the medical again(even though it's a waste of money), but how do I get the medical requisition form for her?
