Me, I had experience. They asked me to correct one of the answer on the form on 2 Oct 2012. I sent it to them on 4 Oct 2012. Later on, I kept sending emails to CPP to follow up, no responses. Last Friday, I decided to directly mentioned the officer's #, put a attention # on the email title, also mentioned my concerns and attached the doc again. 5 hours later, the officer replied my email directly and apologized for the delay. Turned out, my doc never got attached to the file at the first time I sent. Officer then informally requested me to pay for RPRF and said my application is completed and authorized to issue immigration visa.

My suggestion is, follow up with the attention # that they gave u in 2 weeks. Don't wait for 4 months like me. Where did you send your RPRF receipt?

I am still waiting for the formal PPR.
I mentioned Visa officer number on top of my Email body.....PLus I mailed them same documents and sent in attention to visa officer........I paid RPRF online and sent them copy of receipt

So everyone here who got an email from Ottawa asking for info got it from a dedicated/assigned officer? I got the personal history request email from the general "Case Processing Pilot" email account. Does that mean I am yet to be assigned to any officer unlike everybody else is?

Now that I paid another money to redo my medicals, how long will it take for CIC to give me updates?

If most of what I read on this forum is anything to go by, then my file is not assigned. That is :( :( :( :( :(.
I am frustrated living in a LIMBO!!

From the discussion which i had from a government source, if they are asking information from you then there is a case officer assigned to your case and since they are over loaded, they come back once a week or may be once in two to three weeks back to ur file and update the file with the information they have received from you for whatever they asked you to provide to them(second time or third time is not relevant). Once everything is up to date and luckily its time for your file to be viewed then BINGO.......you are in and this is how the wheels are in motion.

My 2 cents..........i don't know if i should be relying on this information and stick to it but this is the ONLY explanation i have received so far by poking around a lot of people.

Is this helpful? You decide.

just copy paste this from answer here in forum:

There are three categories under the Federal Skilled Worker Class:

Category 1 (FSW 1): For persons in an occupation which corresponds to the list of occupations identified in the Ministerial Instructions and have evidence of one year of continuous full-time (or full-time equivalent) experience in that occupation;

Category 2 (FSW 2): For persons who have arranged employment offer with a Canadian employer; or

Category 3 (FSW 3): For students or workers who are legally residing in Canada, and have done so for at least 12 months immediately before submitting their application.

Hi guys, I need your help. I am June 2011 aaplicant under the QSW stream. Today, I received the following e-mail from CPP-Ottawa in reply to my e-mail which I send a week ago. Please read the following e-mail and till how long it will take to do the background checks:

Dear XXXX:
The Immigration and Refugee Protection Act requires that each person applying for a visa to Canada be screened in many different ways, including health, security and criminality.
Background checks or further investigation are necessary in relation with the processing of your and / or your spouse's application. Therefore, the time needed for the processing of this application has fallen outside the timeframe set out in the AOR letter.
Often, delays in the processing of an application are out of our control as some processing steps require coordination with external authorities.
Our office will contact you and / or your spouse as soon as all verifications are completed, or as soon as more information, documents or an interview are required.
Delays in the processing of visa applications are always frustrating to all concerned.
For future reference, in all correspondence to our office please refer to the applicant's full name, date of birth and file number.

I'm afraid it doesn't look too good. The background check might take for ever. Someone in this forum got his cleared in almost 10 months. He wrote to CIC and they replied with the same content as yours. It took him another 5 months or so to get his PPR after the reply. Then it has no relation to what it might actually take to complete the checks. Nobody can predict how long it will take. I hope you will receive something really soon.
