BUFFALO APPLICANTS - File transferred to other VO due to Buffalo closing down

I can't believe that Ottawa is asking people to do their medicals again! I hope this is not a delay tactic. If it is, I have had enough. My life has been turned upside down by this waiting, not able to take important life decisions, separated from my husband who is in the US due to visa situation! I will have to leave Canada by March 30th, leaving my PhD unfinished I am usually a calm, take-it-easy kind of person, but this is too much!

Sorry for this, but I needed to talk it out.

Good news for u. Just a quick question. Have u travelled out of canada since ur medicals were done? and also, is ur wife here in canada with u?

I am in Canada and my wife too. However, for few days we travelled to USa once and back home(1 month) once after medicals. my wife appeared for medicals in July 2011 and I apeared in OCT 2011...however, I ma principle appilcant and my wife is on visitor permit here in canad since NOv 2010

I learned that the VO in Seattle and Detroit are "closed down". Unlike closing down Buffalo, Applications that are already in Seattle and Detroit will stay there until they are finalized. I was treated like a guinea pig by people who don't know how to do their jobs.

I think Temporary applications will remain and Permanent applications will be transferrend.

Thanks my dear. Just got a response from the MP. I was forced to contact them early last week to help enquire since one can't get meaningful response from ottawa. My background checks are in process. It has been so for ages. Anyways..speechless..thats all i can say now

Yes they are working on them. But, you know the worrying part of this to me? Now u have to do medicals and police clearance again. Which is nothing compared to the fact that they will need to contact your home country again to clarify that police certificate and probably will put the files back on the queue and only God knows what time it will take to get it reviewed again after u submit all these.

Well they do verify PC, but usually they verify it from the embassy. I don't know how your country embassy works but my back home country does certify the PCs if they are not issued by their involvement. If you apply for the PC through the embassy, embassy put its stamp and CIC than will contact embassy for verification

Yes ppl have received PPR from Detroit and Seattle, I guess Kenney want to mention no stuff regarding Permanent residence is done@ both offices. We can send email to minister explaining our situation how much we have to suffer. CIC just sends automated emails.
