I have never seen this kinda timeline, if they can send in email why can't they post it online. Moreover why only 1 applicant received this kinda reply. I m confused :o :o :o

I'm skeptical of this timeline too. I'd like to know if this timeline is CPP's official (revealed via email), from unofficial sources at CPP, or straight-out hoax. Doesn't seem it's the first case, and sadly nobody can prove if it's from unofficial sources or just a lie.

Sure I will change the timeline for you .. Do you want me to push the dates back too :P

Hi RWilco,

Thanks a lot for your reply. Can you please explain how do I apply for GCMS notes? I would really appreciate your help.

Regards,
Amol

Welcome to the forum -- your situation matches the majority of the rest of use here (although the dates differ between cases) and some don't even show 'in process' yet.

Based on QSW-111's post above, you should receive a status update by March 31st, 2013.

If you haven't already, you may want to apply for your GCMS notes as it will provide additional detail about your application status.

Hi Amol,

The form you need to fill out is IMM5563 -- there's a link to it on CIC here:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/form-imm5563.asp

You can fill out the form, scan it in, and send it to the email address specified on the form. Usually you will receive a response within 30 days.

There are places that offer services to assist you for various fees ($25 seems typical), however I have done the form myself and it's quite simple--not worth paying someone else to do it (at least if you are in Canada). Also keep in mind GCMS is the same thing as CAIPS (an old version of GCMS) and one or two other acronyms you may see searching online. It is not the same as ECAS (the online status checker), however they draw from the same database. GCMS provides a lot more detail and history.

If you are in Canada, you can select 'privacy act' and there is no cost for the notes. You just need to include some sort of proof you are in Canada -- copy of drivers license, apartment lease, etc.

If you are not in Canada, there are other ways to do it, although I am not as familiar with them. Here's a link to a discussion in another thread that talks more about it. Keep in mind some of the links are to pay services as mentioned above, so read carefully before pursuing one of those options.

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/ordering-gcms-notes-and-proof-youre-in-canada-t85863.0.html

Once you receive the notes, there are several threads that discuss how to interpret them.

Good luck!

Apparently, the last stage in processing our files in Ottawa are security and criminality checks. Having passed them a PPR can be issued. If you think otherwise please let me know.

Are you sure it's the official timeline? I called the agents today and they couldn't commit any timeline. Are you really sure?

Thanks bsnsaa for confirming the email. I just want to reiterate something. There is no way I can confirm if this CPP will commit to this timeline. I just posted this as I thought it might be useful to you guys.

In addition, in the table, the y said that the review date does not necessary mean that the file will be finalized. It just means that an officer will have a look at it and review it so it might be finalized and it might not.

I had sent email to CPP-Ottawa regarding timeline issue, they did't reply :( :( :(

That is why they don't post stuff so often, because as soon as somebody hears a rumor everybody send an email to ottawa to confirm something, this can only slow down the process.

Although I do wish that the mentioned timeline is true because I have been waiting since Feb 2011

Yes.. I sent them an email to followup on my case. I was asked to not send another email again :P
Hi!! where did you send the mail? Can you give me the mail address please?
Thanks!

Not many PPRs this week. >:( >:( >:(
Other ppl on the french facebook page
are confirming the validity of the info provided
by QSW-111 post. I m not sure exactly how CIC
is going to pull this off if they r going stick to this timeline.
Oh well what else can we do except for waiting.
:( :( :(

Hi All

From what email address will be hopefully receiving PPR from ottawa. It would be a good idea to add that address to your mailing safe list so that it does not go to the junk folder.

My Friend what is the difference between security & criminality check during processing?
