Hey guys I want to get in touch with my MP but I am kind of confused which MP to contact.
The reason why I am saying this is that I have a permanent mailing address and currently
I am residing temporarily with someone. Both addresses are however in QC.
I am not sure for how long I would be staying in the temporary accommodation. I guess
I would be staying there till I receive my PPR. But I am not sure when I might need to move.

Should I contact the MP that is associated with my Mailing address or the one where I
am currently living.

And any suggestions what questions should I include in my letter which
may give me a clearer picture of when I will be receiving my PPR.

Expert Opinions needed.... ;D

The address on your immigration file is the one that you should use to find your MP. The MP can only speak for people in his/her constituency and CIC is going to verify that the address on the immigration file matches the MPs district. In fact, the office of the MP will verify this too. The frustration and uncertainty about your residence is caused by the delay inflicted on you by CIC ;) I would tell that to the office of the MP.

Although we talk to the secretary of the MP and not the MP in person it is only the MP that can talk to an agent in CIC on your behalf. The MP does not even need your consent to do so. Members of the house of commons are pretty powerful individuals in Canada.

I don't know if it's just me or not but they did ask me to sign the consent form to check my status. And I "think" it is the case manager of the MP office not the MP himself who talked to CIC in my case.

I didn't have to sign a consent form. In my notes, it is written the MP XY talked the officer WZ. It was the MP herself that did the inquiry on my behalf and I am very grateful to her. It would take me a month to get my notes and I would only know what happened to my file almost a month ago. However, the inquiry from the office of the MP takes a couple of days, only.

They've asked for the passport to be sent to Detroit. How long is it taking nowadays to receive the passport back? Is it better to send it to Windsor?
