BUFFALO APPLICANTS - File transferred to other VO due to Buffalo closing down

I am totally surprised, i thought my file is taking too long because of BG checks and my MP told me this is the last check remaining on my file.. but according to Sharu and march11pr, they already passed BG checks in May and July respectively than why these guys were kept on hold!!!! any particular reason??

Nobody has looked at my file at Ottawa yet. I think once they look and extend medicals it shouldnt be long. I am not sure the reason for your checks, 2 years is a fair bit of time..

Yes they did. The BG checks were completed on July 26, 2012

Give a call to your local MP and explain your concerns, his/her assitant will let you know if the require formal enquiry from you. In most cases they do contact CIC and you will get your answers for sure through this chanel.

When you found his/her name, you should send a letter to their email describing your situation.
You can also give a call, but email if better for follow ups.

Case by case is different. some like me get response in 3 days, and some might have to wait for 2 weeks.
thats the norm. (1-2 week)

your letter can be either formal, or friendly.
they usually have a secretary taking care of the issue.

If you are PNP than don't worry about Eigibility - its already passed but they usually don't update the value.
Criminality - Shouldn't take too long probably two weeks, during that time they will aslo figure out if additional checks are required.
Security - If additional checks are required, this check will be conducted else it will be ignored.

Summary - you are almost there, just pray they don't require Additional BG checks - and you are just a month from today.

they asked me to send my passport to Detroit.
the thing is that they gave me only 30 days to send my passport, and I have a flight booked in 3 weeks to spend christmas with my family (3 weeks is not enough for Detroit to send back my passport + landing visa)
so I was thinking of doing a same day landing visa, enter back Canada with my work permit+regular visa (TRV) that I already have, then do my landing when i come back from my christmas vacation in January. do you think this is possible?
