Hey guys just got a reply from Ottawa about status inq

Dear Sir/Madam,
This is in response to your email (see below). Your file has been transferred to this office for processing. It will be actively reviewed in the next several weeks. As your medical results have expired, we will be requesting an extension of the validity of these results. An officer will be reviewing your file and will be in contact with you regarding any outstanding requirements. I appreciate being advised of your concerns.
Regards,

Hopefully when they say weeks they actually mean that :)

My colleauge landed today!
His time line is as follows

Category: QSW
Citizenship: Morocco
Application Filed: Aug. 2011 to Buffalo
Secondary VO: Detroit
Medicals Done: May 2012
PPR: Oct. 2012.
Landed: Nov. 16. 2012.

He did his medical one year after me and yet I have not received a PPR yet. He got lucky and was not transferred to Ottawa. I think the delay associated with the processing of my file is because of my BG checks though the Ottawa VO claims my BG checks are not started yet.
all for now.

That is so nice.
the response to my last email, requesting an update, was an impolite one.

I am glad you have some good feeling news in your box

the validity of PR visa is around 2-3 month to my knowledge.
I think the wait for the stamp is between 3 weeks to 2 months, depending on the office' (being lazy or not)

:)

Luck was not with our cases. we could have been one of those who landed months ago.
but this is how it works. unfair, stupid, frustrating and annoying.

but lets keep smiles on faces. we might end up waiting for one more year.

I think the validity of the PR visa is contingent upon your day of medical test. Theoretically, the PR visa can be valid up to 1 year if you are the luckiest man on this planet to get your PR visa the day you take the medical test! But always that's not the case. So, ideally the PR visa will be valid until your medical results are valid. Hope this helps.

Thats a good point to know
Thanks

Odis, How long did it take for them to respond to you. I have sent them an email one month ago and haven't heard from them yet.
