I hope they do, so getting GCMS was a good thing for you. Try getting GCMS in another couple of months to see if the changes have been made!

Hi Guys, I need your help. My passport will expire in next April 2013. Its a hand written passport, most likely I can not renew it. I have to get the new machine readable passport instructed by our Embassy. I was wondering should I wait few more months, then get the new passport. Also will this add any further delay to my file processing?

If any one got a new passport, could you please outline the details (ex. how to update Ottawa, pros and cons, what should be put into consideration for PR processing while doing that etc). Thanks

Hi,

I am an in-Canada applicant and I received a letter that requested for me to pay the right of permanent residency fee, send photos and passport. So I am assuming this is the PPR. I have sent everything a few days ago.
The letter stated that if you are a citizen of a country that does not require a visitor's visa to enter Canada then send a copy of your valid passport. I do not need to obtain a visitor's visa so I photocopied my entire passport book and sent it. I did not send the original.

I am a little confused with this passport request:

Question -
What does immigration Canada do with the passport - is it for verification or for stamping?

If it's for stamping then I would assume that they would need the original??

Any clarity on this matter would be great..

Thanks!

Yes, it is most likely PPR - thanks!

Sorry, I'm not going to release any such info. Besides, you don't need to know anymore info - what I've provided is enough.

If anyone else is/was in the same situation (re: previous post), it would be good to get some clarity on the issue.

Thanks!
