@ Saruu & Prasamp,

May I know which countries you guys are from? India? I am an April 2012. Considering the cases of yours, I pretty much look at sometime around May of 2013. It is so frustrating to see others getting their PPR within 3 months these days.
April 2012 applicant? I dont think you would have to wait that long. It depends on your own case, how complicated it is. How many countries have you lived and visited with duration more than 6 months since turning 18. I wouldnt discourage yourself looking at our cases! Remember, we got transferred and from May onwards no work has been on our file. Lets say they start processing files in Sept, 5 months have been lost just due to transferring.

I hope you get your PR within this year ..

Thanks for the reply. For me, my case should be one of the simplest ones! I was in India and have been in the States for the last 10 years. Never travelled to any country ever! Was on F1 and now on H1-B for the last 5 years.
I received my AOR & MR with in 6 weeks and did Med on May, 29. It was updated to medical received on June 22. While it at first looked encouraging, later I learned that many Jan/Feb applicants have had the same status for the last 4 months or so. I am wondering what Ottawa is doing all this time. Transferring of files looks to me a plausible reason. Could it be something else?

I think we are forgetting that PNP and CEC are not the only categories, Family, FSW, are also there and thus the increased workload. I dont know what is happening to be quite honest, but not having seen a PNP Applicant gotten a PPR from Ottawa since May has not been encouraging to say the least!

I would say from May 29th, which means july 29th. Once I find out when I find out when my file was transferred I can have an idea when to expect something.

Nope.. we arent 2 months apart buddy. Look at my timeline I am March 2011 applicant not 2012. So, I hold my composure and answer everyone's questions, but look from my perspective I see people getting PPR whom I have helped, I see people getting PPR who applied 10 months after me, people getting PPR who applied after I got AOR!!! So, I have waited nearly 17 months and its still going! But, I know there is a light at the end of the tunnel so I just try to help others.

Regarding the timeline, for now Detroit will be stamping our visas, if your file never got transferred your visa office should never say Buffalo. I think September is the time when we should start hearing some news, until then just relax.
Folks,
I am 2010 applicant and we should not forget there are still some 2010 applicants are waiting and there is case is in Ottawa...
By last querying with cic through MP i was told my background checks are undergoing on my file... And we should not forget if the case is gone through background check then its beyond control of CIC and will not follow average timeline..

Got the GCMS notes this morning - applied on Jun 19.

Under assessments, it says:

Eligibility: Not Started
Security: Not Started
HIRV:
Criminality: In Progress
Org Crime:
Medical: Passsed
Misrepresentation:
Other Resp:
Final:
And under paper file, it says the location is Buffalo. I doubt that my file is still in Buffalo though. I think it's in transit to some other VO.

Did anyone in the thread apply with their spouse? One thing I don't understand from the GCMS notes is that the status of every section with my name says something like in progress, passed, not started, etc. But the status with my wife's name doesn't say anything: just blank. If medical status is passed under my name but the status of my wife is blank, could I just assume that my wife's medical status is also passed? I'm confused that they didn't put any status information about my wife.

It sucks to see that my file wasn't touched since November 2011, but I'm a bit relieved to find out what's going on with my file.

I guess I should extend my work permit which expires sometime in September. I think PPR won't happen any time soon for me.

EDIT
ecas still says:

Application received
We received your application for permanent residence on May 20, 2011.

According to my GCMS Notes, checks seem to be cleared and PPR needs to be issued thats all. Thats why I think once Ottawa should start issuing PPR, it shouldnt be long.

This is exactly the reason I keep suggesting people applyfor GCMS Notes!! It gives you a piece of mind and you actually know what is going on with your file. It seems yourfile hasnt been touched since medical update. I would assume there is no due date under ASSIGNMENT?

In regards to your file, when were the notesprinted off. You should know one thing is that your electronic file is being transferred to ottawa now as its quicker and easier paperfile might still be with Buffalo.
