I think it is possbile for them to cash the draft after but,
i would think they would cash it before sending out our passports.
Did u send your passport to seattle office too?

No. Mine was sent to New York. I found the processing time for other VOs are longer than Detroit.

Yeah ! COPR arrived in post today - back from detroit.

Calling the help line number included just gets "we are unable to connect you to an agent...we are experiencing a hgh level of calls..." which I suppose is to be expected. It is the first working day of the year after all.

So the afternoon will be spent hanging onto the phone and reddialing and redialling and redialing. Still I can't complain. It is good news after all.

On receipt of your passport(s), your permanent resident visa(s) will be valid until 23 January 2013 or your passport expiration date, whichever is shorter. Yes Julie,
it does mean that you r visa would be valid till the 23 of Jan, But i think they would extend it as they have not got your passport back yet. So shouldn't be worried about it .
WHat i would recommend is that let the Seattle VO know that when you got you PPR it says that your visa would be valid only until the 23 and let them know that you still have not recieved your passport back.That would bring the issue in their concern.

Got my passport back from New York today They sent it via regular mail, not my reliable, fast, expensive fedex return envelope but I won't complain
