My MP assistant called me today to say that they have reply from the cic about my case

medical and criminality are passed ( also known from gcms)

security in process

due date 26 December 2012

PR Visa validity is valid for 1 year and mine got expired, I believe they have extended it for 1 year.

(I have had friend with around 25 months since meds(

So my concern is not really for meds.
It is with my file being untouched so far

I think you should hear something in January.. Half of the winter is gone, lets hope the rest doesnt bring too much cold! -38 now, how much worse can it get

So, i went to the back to check if my draft was cashed and its not.
So, its going to be 4 weeks on Monday since, i sent my passport.

I would still wait, as you shouldnt even count this week due to holidays..

I think you need some sort of permission to be able to come back to Canada.

They call it Travel Document as I know, and It is mostly used in case of emergency trips that could occur between landing and getting the PR Card.

Applied for GCMS for the first time last week, I also sent an email to Ottawa about my medical (Since I did my medical in September 2011) and they replied with an automatic message that my medical has been extended and that the officer will only contact me when they need info.

I hope we get something by February as it will mark my 2 YEARS anniversary for submitting the PR application.

They were working on sept aor applicants so I dont think you should be far off. Is your ECAS in process or app received? Hoepfully, once you get your GCMS it provides some clarity on your case.
