Hi all

I got my PPR today .. Have to send passport to Detroit ..
Congrats. But I am a little bit confused about your time line. Of you're a 2012 applicant, how possibly could your file be transferred? Can you please share your timeline in a little more details? Thanks. And happy Diwali.

I dont think his file got transferred, he is a sydney applicant and when you receive AOR it just says that your file is being transferred to Ottawa. Its not the same as 2011 applicants ... the word transfer and that it was in july could have led to believe that it was the same case as 2011 applicants!

Yeah I guessed so. Thanks for the clarification though. When did he apply? I think he must have applied after May 2012 as he received his MR in July. I applied in April 2012! So I was curious to know the randomness of the CIC.

Guys,

Here is my timeline .. So to begin with I applied under H1 category Provincial Nominee for Alberta in 2009.. Went through the long process of getting nomination I applied to Buffalo VO . In March 2012 they emailed me that my file is been transferred from Buffalo to Ottawa.. So your assumption of me being Sydney applicant is not right . I sent my Medicals in June 2012 and my ECAS status changed to Application Received in July 2012 . In July I got email from them to send me PCC from India . and Nov I got PPR.

I hope that clarifies it a bit.

Regards

thanks. So you must have applied prior to Dec 2011. Am I right?

to CIC Buffalo yes ... but they never put my status up until July 2012 . So not sure what they considered as apply ..

I dont know if in any other thread if this is been discussed, but I need help on procedure for getting H1-B stamped in Canada . Preferably Toronto as its closest to where I am . Is it better to go to canada or India . Also any particular thing to look out for.

Thanks for your help .

you don't need H1-B visa stamping if you are going to Canada for less than 30 days. You can take advantage of the Advanced Visa Revalidation (AVR) to enter the US. Just don't submit your I-94 while leaving the US. Tell the officials you are going to use AVR.

Oh vow really .. So I just go in there .. get my PR landing papers .. and then come back to USA .. That will be awesome .. Will check into it . Thanks for tht advice.

I will plan to drive to Buffalo and go to Canada and then come back same way .. You think any issues with that?

There should not be any issue. But I think you should land in Alberta not anywhere else. Send a personal message to BKD1969 in this forum. He did landing by driving to Alberta. He will certainly tell you in details. Good luck.

Ok i will do that ..

I will have to come back real quick for stuff back in USA .. Alberta might be quite a trip on short duration .. But I will keep that in mind .
