BUFFALO APPLICANTS - File transferred to other VO due to Buffalo closing down

I talked to the MP's assistant this morning.
1. It might take yet ANOTHER 1 year for the transfered applications to be processed and finalized.
2. I am on a waiting list (like many other July 7 transfers from Buffalo) waiting for my file to be finalized.
3. The MP's assistant will tell me in Dec. more about my application including info about my background and security checks
4. I am waiting since Feb. for my application to be finalized.
A phone call from the MP's assistant can go a long way. I called CIC myself a couple of times but I could not get to talk a representative.

Guys who are already working in Canada:

I have a query. I have been nominated by Alberta under US H1-B visa holder category. Now the nomination expired in June, 2012 (to apply for my PR, which I have already done). Now, say I have a job offer from Alberta. Can I obtain a work permit on the basic of my nomination and the job offer letter? In the website, it says Provincial nominees are exempt from LMO! Am I right? Or, I am just over-optimistic? ;D

you can write to your province immigration stating the delays in federal and request them to send a new letter so that you can apply for WP with your new job offer...its immigration delays.....infact if they give you letter for renewal or new papers its going to reduce burden on CIC.. (they dont need to take your LMO application and spend time on that when you are exempted)

Got email reply from OTTawa after 27 days.........I asked them status of my file

Here is thr reply :

Your application is still in process. We are currently awaiting your background clearances. These are expected to take a considerable time. You are assured that we will contact you as soon as this process is completed.


According to GCMS were your cheks completed?

In your notes, is there anything written like what is posted by rsysha on Page 30 of this thread? Just curious how come Ottawa said checks are pending when its passed for you.

Page 16 of this thread on how to order them.. It will not help speed up the process but you can know the details of your file. You can find the notes made by the VO, the due dates mentioned and if you submitted any docs if they have been received or not. Its much better than looking at ECAS. If any information is wrong or if they are expecting to ask you for something, you can actually work towards it beforehand.

as i am just wondering that i know you mentioned before also that medicals will be taken care by them even if they got expired during the file, but what if they delays the file way more than the processing time which was 15 months whn i filed the case....i hope they are not going to neglect the case like they did with fsw 2008 applicants.

there must be some way out other than wait for transfer files....like i mean to say our files are just transferred but we are not culprits and should be penalized like this every day for no reason and the people who are later in the que are settled first just because there files dint have to go through this procedure......

What can we do? I dont think they will discard us, 15 months will pass by. I dont know when you applied but 15 month time line shouldnt even be considered at this point. Its my 22nd month and just go with the flow. There is no way you can tell them that its not fair what is happening but deal with it - thats the only thing we can do.

I understand its tough for yourself and others, I am going through the same process. In my case, I have been waiting for a much longer time then others. I still do check my email 10 times a day, I still do hope everyday I get that email then I can breathe a sigh of relief. Trust me I do, but I dont keep my emotions on the sleeve. It will only cause you grief, just move on and it will come one day or another...

i appreciate your optimisitic attitude but i hope that you are aware of new spouse rule which is going to be applied on us now as we are late ...what abt that? another 2 years after marriage, u can sponsor only....when will we marry only when u get these things settled first because any updates at this stage will just prolong the already delayed process???????

It will delay the process, but it is what it is. There is nothing that can be done about this process..
