BUFFALO APPLICANTS - File transferred to other VO due to Buffalo closing down

Hello everybody,
I received my GCMS notes and I realized that my application is under final review despite the fact that my security and criminality checks are not started yet. Does that make sense to you?

and how do you know that it is in final stages then? is it written there in your notes?

I think probably because the group name might be PR-FINAL REVIEW? Is that the reason that it looks like the file is in the final stages. Thats the only reason I can think of..

Is your eligibility not started? or passed?

Yes, it's passed on Feb. 2012. But I don't understand why they are hesitating to start the BG checks.

The reason I asked this question is that I read some where on the forum that CIC starts BG checks as soon as they issue the medical exam.

I am not too familiar with QSW cases but I can give you what I think about your GCMS. It seems checks might be done, thats why the 1 in fron of security and criminality. It means entries have been made, 1 doesnt mean pass, it means something was entered. So, that contradicts the NOT STARTED - where its mentioned. Obviously, its started its just the VO has yet to update that part and that might be the reason of you being put under PR FINAL REVIEW group. Once your file gets reviewed you should be getting PPR. This is my point of view on this case and yes I believe the checks start once AOR is issued.

What is the updated date and what happened on that date? Is the secondary VO Detroit? I believe they are working on 2011 applicants and shouldnt be that far..

hi sharuu , since 10 days my adress has been changed in the ecas , now its my first adress in Montreal , i dont know why they did this and is it a good or a bad sign ???

According to the GCMS notes the secondary visa office is Buffalo. the notes are generated on Aug. 15, 2012 and by then the last update on the file happened on July, 7, 2012. On that day, the file was electronically transferred from Buffalo to Ottawa and put under "PR-final review". the security and criminality status has been "NOT STARTED" since April 2011 and hasn't changed/updated even with the July, 7, 2012, update.

I got my PPR on 21 Aug, since that I could not verify my status so I sent email to CIC and finally I logged to the ECAS, I got DM...
I sent my passports on 4 Sep and no news...can any one tell me when should I receive it?

It takes anywhere between 2 to 6 weeks for the passports to be returned from VO.
