Heres the response from Buffalo today. This may however mean that Buffalo will be able to complete the processing of applicants from MI-1 who applied before Jan 2010:

CIC is working to closely manage arrivals in Canada, so that we meet, but do not exceed the immigration levels plan set by Parliament last fall for 2011. Since we have larger inventories than room within the immigration plan for admissions to Canada, we must stagger the review of applications throughout the year.

We do not anticipate that we will begin to process federal skilled worker applications from January 2010 during the current calendar year. If we are able to initiate processing earlier, we will contact you.

My mail dated 10 August 2011 to Buffalo VO:
Dear Visa Officer,

It has been three months since the last correspondence (as below). Kindly advise expected timeline to receive the medical instructions. As informed earlier, I have retuned to India and will be doing medicals here in New Delhi.

I would also like to know the possibility of transferring my file to New Delhi Visa office and its procedure.

Thank you for your valuable time and guidance.

Their reply of today:
The medical forms will be sent when your application reaches the appropriate stage in processing.

Very precise and informative >:(

I am aware of it (as per OP 6-Federal Skilled Workers). Wanted to check if they would provide a non-standard reply or not. They are trained to feed you with vague info..

Hello guys,

I have just received this letter from Buffalo stating that "they have completed the initial assessment of your application, and expect to finalize your application without a personal interview."

I am kind of down because I was expecting my passport request and I just got this letter. But at least I know it's on the right track. Do you guys know how long it takes to get a passport request after receiving this letter??

Medicals reached ottawa on April 19th

I can not believe this :'(

This is a template email and have seen it with different dates. I don't think we could trust it. All I understand is that they are no more making promises they cannot keep. Like the 64 weeks processing time.

I hope you are right.

Many applicants of other offices (in other countries) got MR these days, I do not understand why Buffalo cannot offer MR.

It is weird!

The immigration levels plan is different from office to office?

Could anyone help me please.

I needed to know if Canada would still give me a visa if I overstayed in the US? My I-20 is about to expired!

You'd better go back to your own country if your I20 is expiring. I am in the United States too, I do not think it is a good idea to overstay here, which may bring you spot in your background file.

Even though I am not sure if Canada office could get that information from American Government, but it is very possible that you will be refused to come to US forever.
