Hello Folks!

I have some good news to share and some serious advise to seek.

The good news is that My application status on ECAS has changed!!! The new status is:

Your application was reviewed and we started processing on March 28, 2011.

Now with that moving, I need a piece of advise from everyone who has applied for permanent residency based on a "Full Time Job Offer in Canada" (which would be FSW2, I guess).

Is the requirement of a valid work permit upon submission of application and approval of PR still a requirement for everyone who submitted their applications before June 26th?

My work permit in Canada expires in August this year and I highly doubt that I will receive my PR by then. What is the general mandate? Should I be working to get my work permit extended? LMO is now a painful process and takes a while. I guess if I need to extend my work permit, I will have to start the process now.

Suggestion will be appreciated!

Good Luck and Cheers!

We are on the same boat Dollar....I just sent my wp extension application. Yes, having a valid wp while applying and while receiving visa is a mandate. Please start working on extending your WP.

hi,

i had applied fsw1 noc 0213 in 30 aug, 2009. but still i am waiting for medical request. Recently couple of days ago i made general enquiry in which they said my application is in queue for processing. In case is showing "In process". What should i do? Shall i go for case specific enquiry or CAIPS NOTES? which one I should go first? Mine is buffalo, ny to new york visa office transferred.

Thanks
rama rao

ram rao, i applied on 28th oct 2009 and my medical was done on 17th sept 2010. since then nothing. At least you should have got MR by now. Just ask for CAIPS, if not the case specific enquiry.

rama rao ,pls go for CAIPS

@Dollarguy23: i am also waiting for PPR. my employer already applied for my work permit extension.

Hi dollar guy,
I am in the same situation(FSW2), My work permit is expired and i got negative response for the LMO. I have send the work permit extension. Is it fine to have just only workpermit and no LMO for FSW2....... :( my case is in process....

If you dont have +ve LMO, you wont get WP!

Hi,

My status changed to Inprocess today and it says;

We received your application for permanent residence on February 22, 2010.

We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on April 9, 2010. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

Your application and supporting documents were received by the Buffalo office. They are pending review.

We transferred your application to the Buffalo office on April 14, 2010. The Buffalo office may contact you.

Does this mean any different to me from my previous status which was Received by Visa office? What are your opinions...any timeline hope?

this is what my lawyer told me..
if my LMO did not come back positive and i couldn't extend my work permit, i would have to get an AEO i.e an arranged employment offer ( it is validated by the hrsdc) .
and you could await further processing of ur file in fsw2 category on a valid visitor permit in canada.
but basically when they process ur FSW2 file they will need one of these 2 situations to be valid
1. u have work permit and positive LMO( unless exempt from LMO)
2. u have an AEO and are not working in canada on an expired work permit .

if u convert to a study visa, i dunno how u are going to explain to them that ur job( i.e ur employer) is waiting for u to get done with ur processing and have u back when its all done.
