I was a really busy in the last several weeks and wasn't able to finish my story. Anyway the official story was much less interesting than the chick story, but it's necessary to finish it.
After finalizing things with the border officer, I was directed to the cashier to pay any tax duty which turns out to be ZERO with every single item to be followed(Be specific with your lists because you have only 1 chance to do it). And that's about it, easy enough right? I drove to downtown Toronto and planned for the next day.
I took a little advice from other member here not going to Service Canada in downtown Toronto, and it worked great. I went on the subway out of the city and it took me at most 15 min to get the SIN application. I was kindly told to keep the landing paper in the safe place because it would be required at a later time to apply for citizenship...
Equipped with the SIN, I stopped by RBC bank and got no problem opening chequing account and credit card (just name Welcome to Canada package). I was eligible for 12-month-free checking with no minimum balance (it was great in Canada :D). I did everything in one morning and went back to downtown Toronto enjoying local chicks...
I will leave the story here as an open ended here for you guys to explore the chicks...
P/S: I might have to stick with one chick now....

Hi Becksterd,

I am on the same boat and both of us have the same time line. I ordered CAIPS and I am expecting it to be received before end of the month. I will let you know the details once I got it.

I too with you guys... my application status is in process for more than 6months now and didnt get any response from Buffalo VO. I ordered my CAIPS in May, received it last week and disappointed looking at it as it has only age points and BF'd is my AOR date. it is more than 18months Buffalo received my app and still no response.
last week, my address gone from the CIC website and i thought something is happening, but again in two days time it came back.. another disappointment.
i was frustrated and sent a case specific enquiry on the same day and received this devastating reply from them. i thought what a standard reply and i wonder do these guys really read the email we sent them.

"Your file is in a queue awaiting initial assessment. This could take up to 64 weeks from the date we received the application.

The problem is, the form states "E-mail (smaller files only - only under 25 pages)".
Many set of notes will be larger than this. But of course the applicant does not know how big the file is when they order it.
You might think you are going to receive it by email, but it may be delivered by post :(

so far from the diff people (waiting in inprocess status) on the forum who received their CAIPS, i think it is less than 25 pages. but as u said u never know.

mine doesnt have any details in it, still it is 10 pages.. so for somebody whose file is beyond MR stage... it would be definetly morethan 25pages...

This week is 64 weeks sin Buffalo received my whole documents( my AOR date :05May10). But my e-cas is still RBVO, no changes at all. my caips shows next BF'D date is 05May2011.

No updates at all....................................... :(

loveson,
why dont u send a case specific enquiry stating the same and asking for an update.
