Yes, you can do the medicals in advance but will risk having to do it again if you do not land within a year of doing the medicals.
Your second question is not clear (by transfer do you mean from CIO to visa office or from buffalo to satellite visa office) but in either case noone has the right answer. If its CIO to buffalo transfer, it may take about 2 years (as per previous year's processing time listed in CIC website). If its a transfer to satellite VO such as Detroit, there have been medical requests as early as 1-2 weeks after the transfer.
Hope it helps.

Hi Team,

Can you post the links for getting the advance medical done..

I have one more query, my son's passport has gone for renewal to Indian Embassy Washington DC.. as per their timeline they take 2 months to renew passport.. Can I do advance medical before then.. means is there a passport number on medical form or just the application number.

also once the passport is renewed, how to inform New York office about new passport.. and I think I should be sending a colored photocopy anyways.

Any information will help a lot..

Thanks,

Finally, little sign of relief.
I just received an email from buffalo visa office stating my file is transferred to the NY VO.

Hope to see some movement soon..

Good luck all, don't lose hope as buffalo VO is really working hard to clear backlog.

-PEACE

Hi again 13042010,
I want to ask where I can get the forms of medicals so I can do them in advance. I tried the cic website but it does have forms for sponsored families only. By the way my e case says now it is transferred to NY office.
Thanks,
Ali

Hi Ali:
The designated physicians should have the forms in their office. Regarding your previous question- I guess just the file number would do although the doctor may ask you for a copy of the passport to varify your identity (which they may also need to send to CIC with test results but I am not sure) but I am sure you can give them a copy of previous passport if new one is not ready yet.
Good luck !

Thanks for the reply, I'll check with the DMP here in Bermuda.. if possible I will try to take a photocopy so that we know what information is asked in that form.

+1 for you

Cheers,

Just checked CIC website, they have changed to Decision Made... what does this mean... file was transferred from Buffalo to Los Angeles as of Sept 28, 2011... decision made changed Oct. 26, 2011.

Hi,

If it is not the E-cas Error, it is not a good sign before MR

You may send an email to LA immediately and ask the status.

And order CAIPS/GCMS notes immediately to know the remarks of VO.

Hi Becksterd, if you get Decision Made before MR, you might be denied. You'd better do something now. Go and check your status.

Did you send IELTS result? What's your job code? Is your job still in the new category list?

I was told that the office may be stricter to the applicants whose jobs are no longer in the latest job list.

Reply and hope members here could help.

But he filed under FSW3 which means based on the completion of 1 year in Canada. I applied in same category and my NOC was laso not in the 26 occupation list at that time . They have to follow the same guideline. My file also transferred to Los Angeles. I am scared now......after waiting for so long if they will give this news then its really a bad news........

I am fsw3 which studied in Canada for 1 yr or worked in Canada for 1 yr noc should not b an issue because fsw3 changed 1.5 yrs after i applied so they better check my original date Of application....
