I don't think it will but looking at the current timeline its very uncertain about processing time of our file. According to some member on this forum there are chances that we have to wait little longer than usual time so, by that time if medical is more than one year old we have to go for it again.

Other drawback is: our visa will be of one year from the date of medical done. So, considering the situation if anyone receives passport with visa after 11 months from the date of medical done then he has only one month to complete the landing process. (as far as I know, correct me if I am wrong.)

oh i'm already in canada.. so for me those negatives dont apply..
besides i've given up.. i'm puuting cec application.. jan 2011 applicants are getting med request already.

Before they had updated the link you gave I sent an inquiry to Buffalo and got the following reply:

"Medical exam results are valid for one year only. If you get your medical exam done before you receive your medical forms, chances are the results will expire before the finalization of your file and you will be required to redo them."

Canadian Consulate General Buffalo
Immigration Section

I want to believe that it will not take another year, so I gave it a shot. The only downside is I will have to redo them if it expires, which is fine with me..
Because I'm on arranged employment I do not know much about FSW1, since there is a quota for each job category and a quota for every year, the priority and processing times for those cases might change, I really don't know..

I'm thinking of filing a CEC application too but I feel too lazy to go through another IELTS, a new police certificate from home, and spend more money on getting certified copies of these and that ???

i'm just fed up with the inability to plan ahead coz i have to be in canada for FSW2 application and with same employer till its comes.. waited 2 yrs.. another year is too much to ask from me..
yeah document gathering is not fun.. but my ielts still valid and police certificates is all i'm waiting for :-)

same here.. I want to be able to make new plans, and I feel stuck, same place, same employer, can't do anything... i think i will wait until the end of this year and then apply for CEC if there is no progress....

Phew!! :D

yup it is 2 years acc to new guidelines and must be valid the day ur application is submitted first time.
And secondly IELTS must be general module as per their guidelines but not sure if Academic IELTS will work or not though it is more tougher.
