Hey all,

Just submitted our application last week. Anyone have recent experience with their spouse applying for health coverage in BC? What documents are required?

Thanks

Have a look at the latest posts in this thread, they might be helpful. Chances are that you will have to wait until you can prove that the application is in process, not only filed or received.

Sad, but true. There have only been a few of us that were successful in getting MSP based on the fact that CIC had received our application (which is the ONLY requirement)...not showing the applicant status as `in-process'.

If the OP needs/wants coverage as soon as they are eligible ( 2 moths + the balance of this month = Oct 1st), they will likely have to fight for it.

How soon after receiving the application status changes to "in process"... I know it doesn't always change...but just wondering for those of you that did change.....mine has been " application received" for 6 mths

Right now, it's about 11 months. Since you applied in January, your eCas probably won't change until December :(

Unless your file really has been expedited because of your CBSA `issue'. :)

Is it just luck of the draw with the MSP agent?

I hate to hijack your thread, but maybe someone here knows before I ask elsewhere..

Is this possible in Alberta as well? Could my wife get health coverage while waiting?
