British Citizen visiting Canada for 6 Months?

Hello. Next month I plan to travel to Canada and stay with my friend and his family for 6 months, I just have a few questions that hopefully someone will be able to help me with, I am from England and have a British Passport, I am 21 and not currently in college til September 2014, so I plan to enjoy the time I have off til I enroll in, I will be buying the return flights with my birthday money and will have my bank card and also money off my family while I stay in Canada to cover my expenses, I also have my friends details for when I go to Canada so they know where I will be staying, just wondering if 6 months is too long? According to the Canadian immigration I can stay there for a max of 6 without a visa, but I want to make sure everything will be smooth and they will let me enter, I have family in the UK who I will be going back to as soon as my stay is up in Canada and I will be enrolling into college once I get home so I will not over stay in the country, so basically the purpose of my travel is a long holiday to enjoy until I have to go back to education, will I be able to stay for that time without any problems?

You probably won't have any problems.. You have both finances and strong ties to the UK. If questioned at the border, just be totally honest in your responses.
