Hello folks, I am a Canadian PR and planning to move to Canada soon. I want to find out if I can take my dependent spouse and kid along with me. When I applied I did add them as dependents to my application.
Edit: I applied as non accompanying family members and I have received my COPR and did complete landing.

Did you apply as "accompanying family members" or "not accompanying family members"?
As you are asking this question, you received COPR only for yourself?
You need to give enough detail for people in forum to answer.

They will need to get TRVs approved to be able to enter Canada along with you.

one of the requirements of TVR is "satisfy an officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay". This might be hard as I have a PR. Any other options? I am planning on applying for them under family sponsorship program but it might take more than 12 months and I have to stay in Canada for the duration of the application process till its approved.

Your child will need a TRV. No other options there.

Your spouse could try coming on a study permit (but same requirement to satisfy an officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay). Work permit could be an option if your spouse is able to secure a job offer from an employer in Canada and that employer is able to obtain an approved LMIA.

Thank you for the clarification. On a side note if I sponsor for PR for my dependents do I have to stay in Canada through out the duration of application? Am I allowed to leave Canada for a certain period of time?

You need to spend the majority of time living in Canada once you submit the application to meet the requirements to sponsor. Occasional short (2-3 week) trips outside of Canada are OK. You want to avoid anything longer or doing these too often or you'll put your application in jeopardy of refusal.

One last question, Can I stay in Windsor and commute to Detroit daily to during the day and return back to Windsor in the night during the application process? Will that count as living in Canada?

The answer to that question isn't clear cut for me. Recommend you check with an immigration lawyer.

Would add that only essential travel is now possible at the US/Canadian border.

Yes it would as we (many) are commuters after becoming PR and many are applying for citizenship(or renew PR card) as well hence residing in Canada counts for accumulating residency for PR/Citizenship. Day trips doesnt affect your residency.
