Hi guys,

I am currently working with a closed work permit (LMIA). My old work permit expired within four mounts but I am not really sure if I can apply for a bridging visa or I should apply for an extension of my work permit due my actual work permit is close and I should work with the same employer until I get PR because he is my sponsor.

My nomination is already expired but I already got the AOR.

Somebody know what work permit should I apply?

Thanks

If you meet all the requirements for BOWP, then you should go for it. As far as I can see on your concern you are good to go on it.

Stick around for more answers from seniors,

Best of luck,

But BOWP is an open work permit and this person's work permit is a closed WP. Wait for replies from experienced people!!

Hi guys!

I am in a similar situation too. I am on a closed work permit (LMIA exempt) working as a postdoctoral fellow. And my current work permit is valid until November 2017. I have met all the requirements of CEC and have a CRS of 521 currently. But recently my employer has given me an updated offer letter until December 2021 and I will be claiming points based on this for arranged employment. So my question is can I apply for a permanent residence directly or should I be applying for a work permit extension first? Also, will I be eligible to apply for a bridging work permit after I have submitted my PR application as I am currently on a closed work permit?

Hoping for help from seniors!
