Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hello all,

I would like to let you all know that my BOWP has been approved. I want to highlight some important points

1) Don't apply for BOWP if your current WP has still 4 months remaining as an expiry date ( you will get rejected)
2) Don't try to get your BOWP at port of entry (border)
3) To apply BOWP under PNP, you have to have atleast AOR for CIO-NS. Do send/attach copy of AOR
4) When choosing type of work permit, choose OPEN WORK PERMIT (v.important)

Hope this helps !

Hello,

How long did it take for your BOWP application to be approved? i have about three months left for my post grad work permit to expire but i am also hoping to get my PPR request as the only stage i need to pass in my PR application is "security" based on my GSCM notes.

your insight would be greatly appreciated.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp.asp Currently it takes 21 days..
If I were you ,I wouldn't depend upon GSCM notes so much and apply for BOWP in a month or so.

you can wait and apply online even one day your PGWP expires. But on the safe side, I would suggest you apply 30 days before your PGWP expires.

Hope this helps.

Hi. I just want to ask if you attach a job offer letter or contract in your application? Could you please show me the link of the requirements needed for BOWP? Did you apply online? Thanks in advance.

yes, I attached my offer letter, applied online through mycic portal. Google come to canada wizard, it will ask you few questions and apply for extend your work permit option.

I just quit my job. So it means that I have to look for an employer before applying for BOWP? or can I apply and just write a letter explaining why I dont have a job offer letter?

I should have mine in the next couple of week so been chatting about the visa here http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/bridging-open-work-permit-t161212.0.html

What worries me is that once you have changed jobs you have to tell BC-PNP who tell CIC but after they can turn round and say no to your new employer and delay the PR process.

To clarify:
- my work permit is open. i got it through Post-graduation stream
- it will be expired on jan.26,2013
-i dont have my AOR yet. expected to receive on Nov 27

attaching job offer letter is not compulsory. When you apply for OWP, even BOWP, there is nothing to do with employer.

But if your employer helped you to get nomination for province then yes, employer plays a role if you are applying for BOWP.

As you are on PGWP stream, no need to worry. Don't apply for BOWP before you get your AOR. Within 7-10 days after AOR, you will Medical Req. Get your e-medical done asap and as it is uploaded on ECAS ( PR online application status tool), then apply for BOWP. This will help you not to do medical again for BOWP, if in case it is required.

Hope this helps !

Which province nominated you?

Was I lucky to get my BOWP ? :D
I am a BC nominee under employer driven stream. I didn't attach any contract copy or employer info. Infact I chose "new employer".
