Well it would ave been better news for sure if they had decided to take the 10,000 applicants to be considered for the 2011-2012 visas from the Pre-June 2010 applicants with the in-demand occupations instead taking in yet more applications albeit greatly reduced. This will simply increase the already huge backlog no matter how relatively insignificantly.Besides, what exactly has changed for the Pre-june 2010 applicants since a similar ministerial instruction was issued in June 2010? Most of us were pushed aside to give way for the post June 26 applicants and based on the information given to those who sent CSQs at various visa offices around the world, it's going to take 2 years or more for their cases to be finalised.Cappuccino said:Well it's certainly better news than CIC increasing the number of applications it is planning to take in.
Once they've processed the 10,000 July2011+ applications, and the remainder of the 13,800 June2010+ applications - what do you expect them to do for the rest of the year
a) Clear the backlog
b) Twiddle their thumbs

Now, I wonder why that should be in light of the greatly reduced FSW applications CIC has received and will presumably receive in the future. Therefore, with regards to your last question, it's quite obvious that option "b" has always been what they've engaged in in the past, and based on the fact that past behaviour is the best predictor of future behaviour (to quote Dr. Phil, Lol!), there is no doubt that that is what they would most probably be doing in the future too!
Consequently, I really don't see how this new ministerial instruction is going to change things for the better anytime soon, though I stand to be proven wrong which, quite frankly, is exactly what I am praying for!
