BOWP without LMIA?

Hi,

I have applied for PR through the EE FSW stream.
I have two questions.

Firstly, is the letter beginning "This confirms that your application for permanent residence in Canada was received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) via your MyCIC account on ...." my AOR?

And secondly, presuming so.
I don't have an LMIA, can I apply for a BOWP without an LMIA?

Thanks,

Ruth

No - that's not the AOR that allows you to apply for a BOWP. The AOR that allows you to apply for a BOWP will be issued a few months from now once CIC has completed a preliminary review of your application.

No - you don't need an LMIA to apply for a BOWP. But you do need to have a valid work permit at the time you apply for the BOWP.

A few months after you submit the completed application.

Heloo..Can we apply for BOPW without LMIA and without getting an ITA or PNP??
No.

On what basis do you think you would qualify for BOWP if you don't have ITA/AOR or PNP?

I've been in process for 3 months now and no 2nd AOR. Very few people actually get a 2nd AOR before they get PR, or at least that's the impression I have from these forums. My visa expires at the end of this week so I applied for a BOWP with just my first AOR at the beginning of September.
It's also worth noting that BOWP currently have a processing time of about 140 days so by the time they look at my application I'll either have a 2nd AOR (unlikely) or have a decision made on my Permanent Residency.

Just relax. You have a lot of time till next July. Next month your points will go up considerably with your two-year mark. The score is also likely to fall over the next couple of months. It is the lowest it's ever been currently. I wouldn't start worrying about this until next year at the earliest.

Just to be clear, someone with a positive LMIA is not eligible for a BOWP. If anyone has a positive LMIA they are required to apply for an LMIA-based work permit. It says so in the requirements for BOWP.

I dont believe people are still telling you will receive 2nd aor...since jan 31 2015..i have never heard any inland applicant ever received 2nd AOR..though they have ppr already...if you have 1sr aor..go ahead for bowp..people have received bowp with 1st aor..correct me if i m wrong..

Hi Scylla,
Its been 3 month for me after I submitted my application on July 15 under Express entry and there is no 2nd AOR yet.
My current work permit (which is closed and with LMIA) expires in December, whether I can submit for BOWP without a new LMIA (which is in my case)?
If so, I need to apply for an Open Work permit first (that's what the website says), then BOWP for me, spouse and child. I am confused.

Bridging work permit: eligibility parameters
To be eligible for a bridging work permit, foreign nationals must meet the following requirements:

they are currently in Canada;
they have valid status on a work permit that is due to expire in four months or less;
they are the principal applicant on an application for permanent residence under the FSWC, the CEC, the FSTC, the PNC (see note below), or the two caregiver classes;
they have received a positive eligibility assessment on their permanent residence application under one of the Economic Class programs above;
they have applied for an open work permit; and
they have paid the work permit processing fee and the Open Work Permit Holder fee.

there is no bowp seperate application form..you will apply open work permit IMM5710..include 1st aor with the rest of document..make cover letter mentioning this is bowp application..pay fee of 100+155=255..work permit and owp holder fee..fyi. current processing time of bowp is 111 days paper based.

- Only the principal applicant may be eligible for a BOWP.
- Your spouse may be eligible for an open work permit based on your BOWP, your child a study permit based on your BOWP, etc.
- There is no separate application for a BOWP, you apply to extend your work permit, and indicate you are applying for an open work permit (there is no check box for a BOWP).
- You can submit your application for the BOWP and other dependent work permits at the same time; you do not have to wait until you receive the BOWP before you apply for the others.

Thank you so much for the response!
Would like to make it clear, Principal applicant submit the BOWP with Form IMM5710.
Which Form my spouse should use?
Also my child is now 3 year old and she is correctly with a temporary resident visa (its not a study permit) so for her which form i should use?
Once again thank you so much for the help and responses.
