BOWP - September 2015 Applicants

I applied my BOWP today.
Lets see when it comes, my work permit is getting expired on 26th Oct 2015, this work permit is bonded which I received based on positive LMO approved in 2013, so not sure if am even eligible for bowp.
Any suggestions ?

as long as your current WP is valid and you have your AOR, i don't see any issue getting a BOWP.

Applied today for BOWP and added my spouse. Hopefully I get results till the end of 2015. Good luck to other applicants!

Daniel I have some questions for you:
I am the principal applicant, my wife is the dependent, and with AOR I can extend my BOWP. If my WP and my wife's WP expire on the same day, can we file 2 BOWP applications at the same time? Thanks

You can apply for BOWP with your spouse in the same time. You apply for BOWP, she applies just for open work permit, it's not BOWP. Follow the cic questionnaire. When they ask you do you want to add your spouse just say yes. At the end you'll get list of both documents needed for apply. You apply under your account. I added cover letter explaining whole situation. So now under MyCic I can see 2 applications, one for me, one for my spouse. I even added short cover letter under her part too as there was free space.

Here is my question- I am being offered a new job, can I start working in some other company ? Or do I need some kind of approval to work somewhere else as currently I have a bonded work permit with my present company.
Please advise, I really need to change my company !!!

Yes I did applied on 17th Sep so it should come sometime next month.

Hello Friends,

I submitted my online BOWP and Spouse Open work permit application last week. I noticed that in the Family representative form (IMM5713E), we are missing one signature.
Is there a way we can upload the scanned document again with reference to the submitted application. Any help would be highly appreciated.

I submitted online application yesterday. But I worried now because online application processing time is 132 days

I really hope the time will stay 132 days. But as shown recently, they process 1 or max 2 days per week so I expect that processing time to go above 150 very soon. Only 4-5 days processed last month. So it's a simple math. And by the time they reach September only god knows how long it will be. This Friday they will probably increase time again.

Hi guys,

My question is about BOWP. My open WP is expiring Nov 30. I will apply before it expires but im sure i wont be able to receive it until then.
So can i keep working until i receive it or i have to stop working? I heard about something called implied status i dont know what exactly that means... When i send my application to extend it, then i guess i have to extend my sin card as well and how do i do that?

Please answer me as soon as possible if you know 100% for sure

Hi there,

My 2 cents - Just apply ASAP.

Let me explain -

You can apply for a BOWP as long as you are under 4 months of expiry, which you are.

You are in the same boat as I am - mine expires on Dec 31 2015 and I just applied yesterday. Yes, you and I both are not going to receive the work permit until Feb/March of next year 2016 based on the current processing time of 132 days if you were to make the application in the next week.

Once your status as a worker expires on Nov 30, because you have made an application to extend your work permit. You will be on implied status which means you can stay in the country after Nov 30 and keep working and get paid as long as CIC has not given you a yay/nay. You will NOT receive a new SIN as you dont have a valid work permit after Nov 30 and can work legally and get paid on your old SIN.

It is best NOT to travel outside the country during this time as you will NOT be able to come back inside the country
