BOWP : Regarding for spouse open work permit and child visitor permit

Hi Friends,

I have applied for BOWP but, till now there is no update on my BOWP application from CIC.

My family member visas are also getting expired. That the reason, I need to apply Spouse open work permit (Existing case is open work permit status) and child (Visitor status).

Anyone knows how to apply from online tool for spouse and child. Tool is asking about my details.

I applied on 13th September 2014. I was thinking that first to get my BOWP then after will apply for rest of family members.

Our work permit will be expired mid of December.

My case is exactly the same. I got my BOWP first and then applied extensions for spouse OWP and child visitor permit. My wife answered the online questions for her OWP extension application. Then the tool asks if a family member needs to be added. She gave details of my daughter. Then the tool generates the document checklist and number which is needed to apply online through mycic account. The document checklist is for both the applications together. My wife used her CIC account to submit both the applications. You can use your account as well by filling up Family Representative form. This form is part of the checklist generated by online tool.

But to do the extensions your BOWP will be a mandatory document. You won't be able to apply for spouse and child without it. So you need to wait for your document. Another thing I read on CIC website is that you need to file for extension at least 30 days in advance to be eligible for deemed status viz. if you apply 30 days in advance then even if your family's current document expire they can stay in deemed status until the extension application is processed. So you should apply for extensions by mid November in any case.

+1 from my side because you have provided detail description. Otherwise, I am gonna to apply for spouse,child permit without my BOWP by end of this week.

I am waiting for my BOWP. Hopefully I will get it by end of this month. Then after, I will apply for spouse and child from mycic account.

- Marriage certificate
- Passport copy
- Proof of Medical (i think because we answered yes to a question of whether we had medical in last 12 months. I had received MR completed it in September)
