I don't think it's only an issue of not attaching the passport in application, they must have tracked you and so they claim that last valid status was today when decision is made on your BOWP.

the basic issue is applying everything late - even though you got AOR on Feb 19, you applied BOWP on March 9 (more than 2 weeks was taken by you to apply BOWP after AOR!!), knowing your WP expiring on Apr 5 and knowing well about CIC delays too, each day is critical when you decide to apply on tight dates, for eg. you got AOR on Feb as you must be late Sep or Oct applicant, while you could have applied PR quite earlier as well, sometime before June, if it was possible.

I wish you get the decision to be reversed .. all the best once again

I spoke to CIC. The only issue was my passport. Nothing else. I was out of country with my job and didn't have access to some documents that I needed for supporting documents. The timeline has really nothing to do with it to be honest.

I do have a question for everyone. If I grab everything I need for a new application and go down to the border, do you think I could get it all fixed there instead of re-applying online?

vkshah Bahi,

With all due respect, Mr. ccirish could have applied (online) a day before his WP expired and been in good standing with his application.

As the rule state, application for BOWP is very clear ............. application to be made while the current WP is within 4 months of expiry.

Now, if CIC is taking a lot of time to process applications and if time keeps changing then applicants cannot use that to ascertain when they can send their applications ...... that will be doubly absurd.

This gentleman applied with the criteria, somehow his PP attachment did not go through or who knows what happened to it. The PP is a MUST for the application and one cannot submit the online application if it is not attached.

There has been a problem in the IT side of things for which Mr. ccirish cannot be held accountable, neither should he suffer to that.

CIC have not "tracked" him down per se ................ what happened is because he was on "implied status" till today when they made the decision and rejected his application, Mr. ccirish does not have a current WP anymore at this stage, so he cannot work.

In addition to this issue of changing processing times I have seen forum members getting confused about the time to apply - i.e. people are asking question like - "should we apply 68 days before the 4 months so that when the application processing has started it will be within 4 months".

This is not good at all.

No you won't, BOWP are not issued at the border.

Did you attach the PP or not?

I 100% attached it. I honestly do not know what happened. I did everything one by one. Each one was slow uploading. I never got an error or nothing. I just checked and all files are under 5mb too.

I'm waiting to hear back from my MP. I guess I have 90 to sort all this out. I have a meeting Monday with an immigration Lawyer too.

Good, just ensure your press the point and I emphasize this point and therefore write it in bold (others please confirm):\

The passport is a MUST document (see the little "info" symbol next to it on your application)

Because it is a MUST doc, you could not have successfully submitted your application online, it would not have allowed to you

Now, somewhere along the way the IT system has had a glitch OR someone on CIC side have inadvertently deleted the PP

Make sure you push this line with the MPs office

Folks,

It's Friday night when I thought I would be celebrating with a BOWP in hand.

I am very disappointed with the way CIC operates and has left some of us high and dry.

It doesn't even appear likely that the 15-18 March applications will be done next week.

im march 15 BOwP applicant. i got an email from cic that there is an update on my account.. but when i checked nothings change. it still open. what do u guys think happen? im so scared!

Hi Prentiss18,

I got the same update from one of our neighbor who applied on March 14th. They also got the same mail from CIC, but when they checked in My CIC it still shows Open. Based on the previous posts, they will get update in 1-2 days I guess. Let hope for the good.

Good sign, looks like CIC VOs working overtime before they go on the summer holidays!

I did not get anything yet :( :( ::)
