BOWP - March Applicants

Afternoon.
I applied on March 11th. Today in the morning got email "Your application has been updated. Please sign in to your MyCIC account and check your application status and messages for more information". Opened email and nothing.
3 hours later on myCiC got message "APPROVED" and that is it.
No pdf attached, no email with dates.
where do you usually get information on how long BOWP is good for?

Congrats!!! wait for a day, you would be able to see electronic document (pdf) & after a week would be getting physical copy through mail...

HI Nbelkin,

After Logging in you will see PDF doc with BOWP number and validity date ( check status message).I think it will take 4 to 5 hours to update that PDF.

Please let me know your validity period once it will updated?

Hey Desi, our turn around the corner, it looks like they just stopped processing BOWPs middle of last week.

Thank God! some movement atleast.

i think you will have to wait for hard copy to see the validity

I really hope so man.
I am traveling on 10th June and have applied for TRV in parallel (18th May), hoping that by the time TRV gets processed, i will have an approved BOWP.
I really hope that it does not get pushed for next week

Hey guys quick question...how to login to MYCIC and check the status of WP/BOWP?

Since my WP Extension was filed by my attorney will it be possible for me to login to MYCIC Account?

No can do unless you can get the application number (starts with W) and link it to your MyCiC account.

You can sign in using your bank account login details (if your bank is a sign in partner) or create your own login credentials
You will have to link your application to the account using your application number (starts with 'W')

Any clue as to where i can link this ? The webpage i am checking talks about using a secure key.(http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/mycic.asp)

Given that the CEC PR has gone up from 12 to 13 months one will have to expect BOWPs going up too .............. what is happening at CIC?

Hey Doctor,

Any news from CIC for you?

I applied on 18 March. My application has not been touched yet, and the CIC website is showing that, as of 24 April, the processing time has increased to 68 days.

This puts the time when a decision will be made in June. Which is slightly worrying, considering our work permits expire in the end of June/beginning of July.

emma, any news from your side?

I got this letter and the day after got refusal letters saying the BOWP applications for myself and my husband had been declined. We had paid 2x $155 application fees, plus 1 x $100 for the open work holder fee. I looked into it and in the event the application is refused, they will refund the open work holder fee but not the application / processing fee. Hope this doesn't turn out to be the case for you, but thought I'd mention it.... We requested reconsideration of the decision to refuse as it seems to be a mistake on CIC's part.

Damn, only 3 day movement from previous week!!!!

There are serious problems at CIC in terms of staffing levels me syas.
