That's not was I was hoping to hear. Living on the west coast as well, and I'm expecting my BOWP to be approved
around Dec 20th and was hoping to travel with in Dec 27th.

I live in Calgary.... and I got approved on Dec 2nd... still waiting for the hard copy... so I think we are on the same boat.

I get LOTS of mail from the east coast (Ontario-Quebec) and they take from 6 to 10 business days... so you can make your own numbers (of course some exceptions happen, as getting those mails by the third day but that's rare). Just to give you an idea. I just bought some stuff and it is coming from Montreal (Canada post regular mail). I expect it to arrive just before Christmas. So be patient, maybe you will be lucky but always prepare for a bad average case scenario (10 full business days).

I submitted my BOWP today and after paying with my credit card, the fee receipt showed up as just text (kinda like when a webpage doesn't load properly) and nothing after that.
Did it happen to anyone else? Was that all there was too submitting the application fee? Did you have to print and fill out the form and submit it like with the CEC application? The receipt page I got wasn't even in tables and unformatted.

Same happened to me but, you can check your application status
(login mycic and click on the app you recently applied)

My BOWP approved yesterday, I applied on 22nd Nov. The status shows Closed and final decision reached as approved.
I need some help regarding my wife's work permit here.

She is currently on a Visitor VISA (she doesn't hold any work permit or any visitor record as of now), In my current BOWP application I had applied for her visitor record (because I was afraid of applying here open work permit along with mine BOWP) which is approved. Now I have to apply for here Open Work Permit, Could someone of you please guide me how to do that?

Does she need to create her on MyCIC ID or I have to use mine account to raise here request? because I saw in this forum that principle applicant can apply for Open work permit of spouse while applying for his/her own BOWP and those cases got approved as well. but I don't know in my situation how to proceed.
Any details would be greatly appreciated.

I know,, I was frustrated to see as well. I mean, wen I opened mycic and followed necessary steps to apply online for BOWP, from no where there was a question asked close to the end, whether I completed medicals in last one year orelse in later stage you might be asked to do one. After ientering relevant information through come to canada wizard, I was given a checklist and necessary kit to apply BOWP whch in normal process, except tht one weird question abt medicals, so thts wy I wanted to see what the forum has to say.

As I said 7 business days after it was sent (8 business days after it was approved).

Submitted: Nov17
Approved: December 3rd
Mailed: December 4th
Received: December 11th

Hi ,

I got a new Bridging Open Work Permit on mid Nov 2013 for one year (i.e. expiring Nov 2014). I went to Service ontario to renew my heath card based on this NEW work permit end of Nov .
FYI- I had a closed work permit expiring mid of Dec 2013 .

I have got this letter dated 1st week of December from Service Ontario related to my health card . Anybody has any idea ?? Did somebody else received this kind of letter ??

"The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care is responsible for ensuring that only eligible registrants have access to publicly-funded health services. ServiceOntario is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the information recorded in the ministry database under Section 11(2) of the Health Insurance Act.

The document identification recorded by the ministry from your work permit is not the same as the information in Citizenship and Immigration Canada's records.

Please forward a PHOTOCOPY or SCANNED COPY of the front and back of your most recent Canadian immigration document(s), along with this letter, using the enclosed envelope, or the fax number or email address provided below. Please provide a telephone number where you may be reached during the day.

If there has been a legal name change which differs from the name on your immigration document, please send a copy of the legal name change document as well.

This information must be received by Feb XX, 2014 even if you have been issued a new health card, to ensure that there is no unnecessary interruption to your health coverage.
